That's the point of their Paris Hilton/Nicole Richie gimmick. So it's worked on you.

can't wait for the return of the king of kings, the cerebral assassin Triple H!
I miss HHH. It's sad not seeing him on UK Tour. He was meant to be at the first on in January and he got injured. I was gutted.
I LOVE LayCool. I think their gimmic is great and the whole Hart dress up thing they did was fab.
Watching Raw now and I love how he talks about winning at Survivor Series and competely negates the fact the main event is supposed to be for the title aswell.
EDIT: Now the show negates the fact they've been promoting this for weeks?
What do you mean?
who's "he" ?
We're 4 days away and Survivor Series is shaping up nicely. It has the potential to be a very good PPV, some interesting looking match-ups in there on Sunday.
Looking forward to it, hoping not to be let down again.
Old School RAW was like stepping into a time machine. Love love loved it. Brought back so many memories.
I think Survivor Series has been disappointing in terms of building matches. I mean it's only been Wade vs. Randy Orton with John Cena as the special guest referee which has been hyped. I like the traditional Survivor Series Elimination matches - one I remember greatly was a few years back where Steve Austin was captain and Shawn Michaels was the last man and gave everything he got. I believe it was around 2003/4 because I think Batista provided a Batista Bomb for the kill? Not too sure.
I also agree with you on the Old School Raw. The most impressive part of the show was Mae Young participating in a match, she didn't do much apart from slapping Layla, but she has wrestled in 9 decades since the age of 17, that is impressive.
An episode of RAW based on the 1994 format.
omg cool, is it on youtube??
Sky Sports 3 around 5pm tonight.
Anyone think that Wade Barrett will win the WWE Championship at Survivor Series which then leads to a PG brawl between Cena & Barrett and then The Miz cashes in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Barrett to win the WWE Championship? I do. :)
"PG brawl". I love how everyone doesn't stop mentioning PG when it's barely having any effect on the product.
So lets say for instance "blood" - this is done to make it a little more realistic/electrifying/watchable.
Of course most of the time wrestlers use to cut themselves with a little pin strapped to their wrist etc but sometimes not - this did make it more entertaining and watchable for the older generation. I think the ratings WWE get now speaks volumes compared to 10 years ago. Now that the election is over, they should just go all out in making their product a show for all. Anything along the lines of setting up something equivalent to the attitude era would make a massive impact on todays product. Of course this would never have the same 'feel' as it did 12 years ago.
I do feel that the Nexus invasion could have been the best possible start to scrap the PG thing and just turn brutal. This was a wasted opportunity.
WWE didn't go PG because of Linda running for Senate.
"A little pin" is a bit of an understatement. They use razor blades.
The fact of the matter is blood was overused. Rarely did it genuinely add drama to a match because it was just used so much, not like the '70s and '80s.
The PG rating means no explicit language, violence against women and blood. Hardly three reasons that are monumental in the "fall of a company's quality".
Yeah I know but WWE being PG was vital for Linda's Senate Campaign, I think. Now that the campaign is over, the only thing stopping WWE from potentially scrapping the whole PG is their contract - I believe that runs out in 2015.
The buy rates for PPV's have dropped quite worryingly in the last few years and what would you genuinely do if you were Vince? Carry on with the PG concept until 2015 > possibly resulting to lower buy rates, sales in tickets etc. or would you just cancel the contract and reinvent a whole new version of the attitude era.
On Raw, Mae Young used two words which aren't familiar within the PG business - ***** & **** (if this is filtered then let it be, if you watched the event then you'll know what they are). I actually laughed at this because my initial thoughts was Vince would be furious, but it turned out it wasn't the case - apparently Vince had a positive reaction backstage by sharing a laugh or two.
The PG rating allows for mild use of profanities.
PG has nothing to do with the decline in PPV buys, ticket sales and ratings - that is the product overall. People aren't not tuning in just because they can no longer see women get clotheslined by men and blood in every PPV main event.
The main reason for WWE going PG is their relationship with Matel, that and being kid-friendly to expand their younger audience and thus have a more favourable public standing.
I'm personally not a fan of the fact that WWE is now PG rated, I guess I just loved the blood and the chair shots haha.
But to be honest, I haven't really noticed the difference. I thought I would, but I haven't. Still some good entertainment on show as there always has been.
As WWE has shown, weapons like steel chairs are still allowed.
Just not direct to head. TNA has banned this too, but TNA suck.
I actually really enjoy the entertainment WWE offer. Mainly from Santino.
Quote:
World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed this afternoon that the organization has come to terms on the release of Shad Gaspard and Luke Gallows. The organization also announced that Vance Archer, Caylen Croft, Tiffany and Jillian Hall have been released from their contracts.
Yes, unprotected chair shots have been banned, but nothing to do with the PG rating, purely to protect the wrestlers.
Yeah thought you'd pick up on that, I still miss it though haha. Loved the chair shots to the head, but I realise it got changed after the whole Benoit-concussion fiasco. Also, reports are suggesting that the following matches have been added to the Survivor Series matchcard:
Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kaval
United States Championship
Daniel Bryan vs. Ted DiBiase
If this is true, it just further shows how much the WWE just don't care about the Intercontinental Championship anymore. Used to be such a prestigious title.
Intercontinental title used to be the bomb, can still picture how it looks in my head!
WOW lot of releases, guess they're cutting some dead wood.
How well do you know him?

Great build-up video for the match on Sunday which was shown on SmackDown, looking forward to it now.
Not to slate WWE but as time goes on it gets worse. From when it started to late 1998 it went way up, after that it slowly dropped off...2004 was the end for me. They just don't make the most of their talented wrestlers.. for example look at Christain Cage's matches from TNA compared to those of WWE, not even close in comparison!
Big fan of Christain, hate Edge :p
Just watching my tape of Raw, really don't get why Cole 'hates' JR. Still find it a shame he had to leave.
It's only to put over his new antagonistic character. There's no bad blood between them at all.
Meh, Superstars if you want to be specific. He didn't debut as The Undertaker formally until Survivor Series as Ted DiBiase's secret partner, and since that's the question...
Survivor Series is tonight at 1am UK time for anyone interested in getting an online stream or something. It costs £15 to order it on Sky Box Office.
I only order Wrestlemania on Sky Box Office.
i'll give this PPV another miss.
I'll be staying up to watch this one online.
Watching the press stream. Not sure why they run them when they send me the DVD as well.
How have you managed to get your hands on that? :o
I think the PPV Posters always end up giving spoilers. If Barrett's on the poster alone you know it's gonna be a big night for him
