I believe it was around 2003/4 because I think Batista provided a Batista Bomb for the kill? Not too sure.

I also agree with you on the Old School Raw. The most impressive part of the show was Mae Young participating in a match, she didn't do much apart from slapping Layla, but she has wrestled in 9 decades since the age of 17, that is impressive.
Yeah that was in 2003, I remember that.

I also enjoyed Old School RAW, alot of great memories as Misawa said. Some superstars there that I never thought I'd see again - and J.R just made the night perfect

Sky Sports 3 around 5pm tonight.

Anyone think that Wade Barrett will win the WWE Championship at Survivor Series which then leads to a PG brawl between Cena & Barrett and then The Miz cashes in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Barrett to win the WWE Championship? I do.

"PG brawl". I love how everyone doesn't stop mentioning PG when it's barely having any effect on the product.

So lets say for instance "blood" - this is done to make it a little more realistic/electrifying/watchable.
Of course most of the time wrestlers use to cut themselves with a little pin strapped to their wrist etc but sometimes not - this did make it more entertaining and watchable for the older generation. I think the ratings WWE get now speaks volumes compared to 10 years ago. Now that the election is over, they should just go all out in making their product a show for all. Anything along the lines of setting up something equivalent to the attitude era would make a massive impact on todays product. Of course this would never have the same 'feel' as it did 12 years ago.

I do feel that the Nexus invasion could have been the best possible start to scrap the PG thing and just turn brutal. This was a wasted opportunity.

WWE didn't go PG because of Linda running for Senate.

"A little pin" is a bit of an understatement. They use razor blades.

The fact of the matter is blood was overused. Rarely did it genuinely add drama to a match because it was just used so much, not like the '70s and '80s.

The PG rating means no explicit language, violence against women and blood. Hardly three reasons that are monumental in the "fall of a company's quality".

Yeah I know but WWE being PG was vital for Linda's Senate Campaign, I think. Now that the campaign is over, the only thing stopping WWE from potentially scrapping the whole PG is their contract - I believe that runs out in 2015.

The buy rates for PPV's have dropped quite worryingly in the last few years and what would you genuinely do if you were Vince? Carry on with the PG concept until 2015 > possibly resulting to lower buy rates, sales in tickets etc. or would you just cancel the contract and reinvent a whole new version of the attitude era.

On Raw, Mae Young used two words which aren't familiar within the PG business - ***** & **** (if this is filtered then let it be, if you watched the event then you'll know what they are). I actually laughed at this because my initial thoughts was Vince would be furious, but it turned out it wasn't the case - apparently Vince had a positive reaction backstage by sharing a laugh or two.

The PG rating allows for mild use of profanities.

PG has nothing to do with the decline in PPV buys, ticket sales and ratings - that is the product overall. People aren't not tuning in just because they can no longer see women get clotheslined by men and blood in every PPV main event.

The main reason for WWE going PG is their relationship with Matel, that and being kid-friendly to expand their younger audience and thus have a more favourable public standing.
