It's just Marvel that aren't good at making third films. X-Men III, Spider-man 3, Blade Trinity, etc. They were all nothing compared to their predecessors.

well film-making is a business. if it will make money, they'll do it. so unless everyone unanimously decides that they would not pay money to see a second or third of a certain movie, they're going to make it. but the market speaks for itself, and sequels sell.

All down to opinion. You don't like some Trilogies, some people do.
If films weren't about money, you'd see one hell of a lot less being made.
When you say number 3, I'm presuming you mean Threquels.
Some are good, some are not.
