I wonder if it's possible to have it done just for threads which are stuck...
Well it doesnt benefit me or any other user, unless they have a stickied thread lol. So if you stick my thread I will agree with you, but untill then I'm afraid I shall stay on my side of the fence.
I've noticed the thread you have posted is in my section;
Just simply PM me on what you would like replacing, and i will happilly do it, as people have pointed out, its our job :)
Don't feel like your bugging us :).
It is not a problem to edit a first post. We did it all the time when the Christmas and New Year lotterys were on and quite often do it to update graphics etc. It really isn't a problem. I have to agree with Hecktix & Nicola, having free editing with no limit would be a moderating nightmare.:P :D
I think if this was stated or people were told about this then it would be quite popular, people are always making mistakes around the Forum, I for one would like to edit my threads but the time has timed out. I think there should be a thread for this somewhere around the Forum
But all they have to do is pm a moderator of a section or an smod with what they want changed and it can be done. If it is extra or additional information another post can be added too after the 15 minutes without it being considered as breaking the multiple post rule. :)
Loads of forums have open first post edits - The Sims 3 forums do this and their userbase are a lot younger. It wouldn't be difficult to enforce if you did open it up to edit, afterall rules are there in the first place and edits would probably be there to boost the usefulness of the thread with updated information (as with The Sims 3 forums). If people edit the posts to something stupid and irrelevant, it will get closed - simple.
In what way though? Nobody seems to have given any specific examples as to how it would be useful in a positive way. You can preview a thread as many times as you want and edit before you post it. I can see it with the lottery threads but Dom and Jack had no problem pm'ing us to change them and there was not delay but nothing much else.
