Do you think age matters?

I don't think it really matters at all, but it's just so socially unacceptable, especially when you're younger. I've been told 'up till 20 2 year age gap max, when you're 40 it can't be more than 7' which really annoyed me... you don't choose someone on their age!

I sorta dated an 18 year old when I was 14, simply because I was very mature for my age and couldn't find anyone suitable around my year, which I think is fair enough. I will always date someone on their personality rather than looks/age.

I don't think it matters as long as there isn't too much of an age gap :)

I think it does matter. I mean go ahead and disagree sure, there are always exceptions, but at the end of the day there are generally second reasons for relationships with big age differences.
Say a 64 year old man was with a woman in her 20's or 30's, the likelyhood is that she is with him for his money.
I know someone who is 18 who dates men 10 years older than her, and those relationships are short-lived because even though she seems to see it as true love each time, it's obvious the guy is with her just for sex.

That is my opinion and those are my reasons.

Even if those are true, it's not actually the age that's the problem but the fact that the people involved are looking for different things, which happens all the time in relationships with people of similar ages too. The only limiting factor on a relationship (other than legality, which only covers sex not intimacy) should be whether all parties are happy with the setup

that doesn't mean that age is an issue though. i know people who are going out with people our own age, but because one of them is minted (i don't think he knows she's with him for the money) not for ~love. therefore, those factors which you stated aren't dictated upon ones age, but rather the motives of the individuals themselves; which can happen in any relationship (regardless of age).

In the teen life, age kinda matters, but once your both 18 & over... doesn't really matter.
