Do you think age matters?

Do you think age matters when it comes to a relationship? Why do you think this?

Personally, I don't think it matters as much when you're older but I don't think it's right when older people get with and/or marry younger people. I'm talking 50+ year olds with 30 maybe and below. I personally just don't like the thought of it but I just think each to their own. A 64 year old man that I know married a 31 year old woman from Gambia a few years ago and I just don't think she loves him. He is more than twice her age and I just don't think it's right. I also don't think it's right for under 16's to be with over 20 year olds at all. I know a couple of girls in my school who have been out with over 20 year old men... Makes me cringe tbh.

I'm sure we all have our opinion on this and there are no right or wrong answers so what are your thoughts on age when it comes to relationships?

i really don't even see why this question is always up for debate. if two consenting individuals wish to be together then they should. i've dated people 2 years older and i've dated people up to 10 years older and it's not about the age for me personally, it's about the maturity level. there wasn't much maturity difference between my last 2 exes who were 18 and 27
i don't see the issue with your example of a 64 year old man and a 31 year old woman based on AGE but obviously if they're not in love or it's for other gains then yeah it's not exactly 'right' but how you feel is your problem and not theirs.
& also when i was 15 y.old i dated a 19 year old which my family weren't happy about and looking back, i wouldn't allow my daughter to do that either and yeah i'm not entirely happy about the idea but it's really no-ones business...
um also i know a guy who started dating a girl who was just coming up to 13 years old on his 16 birthday, yeah they got a lot of hassle but 6 years on they're now engaged aged 23 and 19 so yknow....

aslong as the relationship is legal, consenting and both parties are happy, then there shouldn't be any issues; and age shouldn't matter. afterall, some people just prefer those who are more older, or those who are just younger than them. everyone has their own little physical interests that they find more attractive in a partner, so aslong as no laws are being broken then it's fine. obviously their motives for the relationship may not be as simple as that, but aslong as the couple are fully aware of each others motives for the relationship then that's all that matters tbf. yes, someone whose relatively young may seek an older person for £££, but aslong as the older individual is aware of this, then it's fine. hell, i'd go out with an older woman if she bought me things (aslong as she was physically fit though), mainly because i'm not looking for anything serious at my age, and i'm sure that would be quite obvious from the beginning.

yeah i see what you mean, i guess i was thinking more about the not being in love rather than the age but in this case how i feel about it is kind of their problem as i'm his granddaughter

I agree with some saying if they love each other then no one should come between, no opinions should matter other than their own as afterall they are independent and it's their decision.

I remember in High School this girl started dating someone who was 18 when she was about 13, they agreed not to do anything illegal whilst she was underage and I'm sure they adhered to that. Not sure if they did anything after she was legal but now she is 18 years old whilst he is about 23 and they're pretty much still together. So in that case age doesn't matter, although sometimes it's better to be older and not in school such as 18 and 23 instead of 13 and 18 etc.

If they're both over 16 (uk) then there's nothing wrong with it... May be an usual age difference sometimes but imo it doesn't make it wrong.

haha i remember last year when someone in my year (12 at the time) went out with someone who was 15, at the time. they went on to have sex and stuff which was a major deal in our year and the girl ended up with no friends. sure enough that's become a 'norm' in our year now for year 9s to get with a year 11 and go on to have sex, it's happened about 10 times since. i personally don't see a 'massive' problem with it so long as no one is pressured into anything they don't want to do and they're genuinely happy together. although saying that, i never would

I think it does when your younger becuase like you haven't developed completly and all that but when you get older, i don't think it really matters, as long as both people love each other then i don't see a problem with it. I would see a problem if like one person was 20 and the other like 50 but when there is about 5-10 years between people, i dont see a problem.
