I think if you decide you want to become a DJ you should be prepared to download and play things you don't nessercairly like. Obviously you want your own imput in your shows but really you have to cater for the audience

Wow. i gotta say reading this thread is like o em ge. All i can say is that when i was a dj i wanted to do a show just for people who like rap, r'n'b and hip hop etc.. and i was told that i couldnt because of refusing requests.
Still though to this day i still think it would have worked.
And you lot who take the mick out of the djs about their voices are just sad.. no offence.. gosh dont you ever remeber being young? atleast they are doing it.. they are doing it for you to listen to and enjoy yourself... they are doing it off their own back.. they aint doing it for their own good, they do it to keep everyone tuned in. You are all part of the habbox community.. and habboxlive is part of it.. i just dont think it is fair to 'put down' habboxlive on a thread. maybe if u have a problem with something like it you should pm adzeh or another dj.
cause if i was a new person coming to the habbox forum and saw the people putting down parts of the thing why whould you bother tuning in? or staying? its just wrong.. yeah i might go on but its just sad of you lot to put it down, it aint fair on none of the djs
If You All Non-Djs Think It Is Easy Getting To Everyones Request You Try And Do It Sometimes We Get 100 plus Request
Yeah thats the other thing. There are far too many requests for the DJ to handle.
Say each song is 3 minutes. A 60 minute show..20 songs max can be played (some songs are much longer and some are shorter) and also add time to do the shoutouts, talking and competitions. Not many songs can be played in the 1 hour if you add it up like that.
Having 100+ listeners, its not possible to play all the requests ;).
MAD
Firstly I'd like to say we have no 11 year olds on our radio sation. Secondly we play a wide variety of songs, for example we play the classics like The Beatles et etc. These songs will always be popular with any generation. Thirdly we would appreciate some constructive critisism and not just disses and complaints. We are getting the quality of the streams better for all DJs and informing them of where the best quality is. Generally we also strive to improve our quality all the time, as it's not a professional radio station I think we're doing very well. Obviously we will have to invite people to parties as it's habbo based- I know some DJs do invite too much, but it can't be changed. In my opinion Habbox Live has actually never been better- we've got a lot of dedicated listeners who enjoy the shows and our timetable is nearly filled up daily.
Okay I'm going to say my thoughts on this.
Yes, I do agree that a lot of the same songs are played a lot, but most of the time they are requests. On a regular day I get anywhere from 50-100 requests and we can't play EVERYTHING that is requested. And as far as the 'radio having bad quality' goes, it all has to do with the DJ and their streaming proporties. The radio itself is not bad quality. And tbh, I'm not just saying this because im a DJ but I've never heard a DJ yet with a show with bad quality but hey, that's just me.
I'm going to try to keep this a nice, not trying to start an argument post but honestly, I don't appreciate our staff being called names or all of the bashes here. We all work together very hard to keep this the number one radio on habbo. We are here purely for you. We take off an hour of our time to DJ, for you. Hey, I'm not complaining, I love DJing but just a little more respect and knowledge would be nice?
And as for my post above, I'm sorry but it really did make me lol quite a bit. Not because it's true (because it's not, we have no 11 year olds on this station) but just because I've heard it before on other radio stations. Just clearing this up ;)
Just my thoughts,
ily

No offense to weec0, but he must use limewire or something to produce his music because the quality is always so damn poor. Now when I rarely tune in I look at the DJ Panel, if it says DJ weec or weec0 (whatever), I close it down.
The DJs need to be better imo.
The music quality is nessercairly down to where te music is from, normally you will find it is down to the settings on the encoder.
There are a lot of options on what to pick on the settings and some are better than others, I'm sure though if you tune in now the quality will be better :)
I have never listened to habbo radios purely because they all have really annoying pommish accents (no offence) but i cant understand what you say. And they always say "If you send me a f.r you get a free hc wooo" and all the "lets have a partay in da hallway". turns me off habbo radios :(
I'd love to know who that is to be honest with you, please PM me their DJ name(s).
On topic: I don't particularly think that HabboxLive is over run with "grunge" music, in actual fact can somebody please define the "grunge music" in their own opinion so that I can get a clearer picture of exactly what they mean.
This does provide an interesting relation to current discussions by the HabboxLive management about variety of music, since it has become apparent that the same songs are being played, hour after hour. It was not actually considered that the genre of music might be turning people away, since, in my opinion, there is a very well mixed group of DJs, and music played.
We try to satisfy all people, but the majority is obviously where we focus as this will generally account for more than half of our listeners, and is obviously who we want to please the most. A previous music poll posted on the forum suggested that a large number of people preferred indie music, and a very small minority of people preferred rap. As a result, you rarely ever hear rap on air, and can 100% guarantee to hear at least 3 indie songs every hour.
Of course, we will try to counteract this problem, and post as many feedback polls, on the forum and HabboxLive.com, as possible in order to make a confident conclusion about what we need to do, and how, to make HabboxLive better and satisfy our listeners in the music department.
Any suggestions here about how we can reduce the number of songs that are overplayed (hour after hour by different DJs) would be appreciated and awarded with +rep.
Thanks.
There needs to be more of an emphasism on the music that is being played, than on the amount of parties they try to involve Habbos in, while being on air. They're on for an hour at most, usually, during that time they shouldn't be spending 5 minutes shouting at us to get to Hallway 1, 2 or whatever, but more just making sure that the music is played.
Whilst I know that you DJ to have fun, you also need to make sure you listen to what the listeners want, or you'll end up DJing to yourself - And that's no fun, at all.
Thanks for all your opinions and your feedback to what i've wrote, I hope some of 11 year old DJ's learn to DJ correctly then talking about nothing for the next 20 minutes, Cheers.
Earthquake, I'm still waiting for you to reply to my question.
I want to know who you are on about? And please don't give no rubbish like "I'm not talking about anybody in particular" or "They know who they are" or anything like that.
hxl was down hill as soon as jrh left to take hxr to a new site. as usual hx fire all the good staff / DJ's, coz there's people like bethie (birmz) who would play any time of song you requested, when i tune in it's always 1 type of music. also the DJ's always sound like they've got no balls which is why people tune out coz of the voices.
bring back hxr. :8
Will somebody please just have the guts to actually put some names forward?!?
And Hollywood, not all 14 year olds have their voices broken. If we were to include an age limit, because of voice, it would be discrimination :).
i wouldnt care, then do it so they need to drop their damn balls, heh. "/
Surly the "interview, applications" will show who have.
People aren't just hired because they have a deep voice...
They are hired because of the quality of their application, their experience, and their apparent ability which can be seen from their voice clips and application content.
We aren't going to turn good DJs away because they have high voices!
Are you serious? They are girls....
Girls cannot help their voices being high as it is a part of their physical characteristics. Unless you are inferring them to just be bad DJs, in which case I disagree completely, as will many others.
Weec0 has not worked for HabboxLive for months...?
i think the radio needs decent layout im yet to see one...
And in your expert opinion, which radio sites have good layouts?
And @ Earthquake, thats exactly what's wrong, you haven't got a clue who you are actually talking about. You've just whacked the names of a couple of very very good DJs down, and totally debased them without any possible back up for it.
If you gave me some Djs names, and a list of their faults, fair enough. But name dropping is just silly...
You said you only spent 10 minutes listening to the radio
and you're telling him to tune in more?
I doubt from 10 minutes you can have this opinion from the radio
& Whats the point in picking random names, he asked you which djs you were referring to. If you pick different people you're problem won't get solved, will it?
Because HabboHut gets loads of listeners and is so succesful nowadays?
were not discussing the listeners were discussing the layout therefor stay ontopic yeah?
Why don't you just say you can only play a song once every 2 hours or something? That way people won't get annoyed by repeated songs and it'd kind of force people to play wider variaty of music.
I'm not much of an expert on this because I know everyone would hate my music
this current dj is one of the bad ones, they play a crap music genre. i'm listening through video lan client and all they seem to have on is gospel music? is it the auto dj or summit? if not please sort the dj out..
HabboxLive: DJ Immi [3 (108/300 @ 32 kbs) - must be doing summin right???What you have got to remember is that most times with HabboxLive you are 1 in 100 sometimes maybe 200 so it aint really possible to get your favorite music played over and over again.
You need to look for a DJ that plays your type of music.
I've listened to HxL since 2005 and I've not once heard 'an 11 year old screaming get down to hallway1!11!'. Yes, a DJ might have asked listeners to go to the hallway for a party, but what's wrong with that - it's a Habbo based radio :S
