Well either way, the word homophobe gets thrown at anyone who does not agree with homosexuality to label them the bad guys. When really they are just forward-thinking individuals that have a basic understanding on what we humans are here for and how we are here. Homosexuality goes against both those understandings.
Actually I know what a phobia is even if some homosexuals and the pro-gay 'rights' lobby have hijacked the word to shout down anybody who does not approve of their lifestyle or sexuality. If you want to debate homosexuality properly and prove him wrong, then playing the homophobia card just shows you all up as a group of reactionaries who label opponents of their idea/lifestyle as mentally backward - that isn't how you win a debate rather it prove the opposite. It's chilling to note that in an ironic twist, despotic regimes label homosexuals as mentally backward - do not do it to the other side.
He has a view; do not label him as mentally beneath you just because you do not agree.
He does not, as far as we can see, have an irrational fear of homosexuals. He is however opposing homosexuality on the grounds which he has listed, now if you think him to be wrong (as I myself do) then prove him wrong rather than throwing around words which do not apply to him.
Are you actually reading my posts? Clearly not. I am not suggesting he has an "irrational fear" of homosexuals, though it is plausible I suppose, I can't see why someone would be so opposed to something that doesn't actually have anything to do with them in the slightest. I am using the term "homophobe" for the purpose of the argument, as I can't be bothered to type out "someone who is opposed to homosexuality" each time. I have made this clear and don't need to justify myself to you or anyone else, everyone knows what is meant by it. Give up
Then you shouldn't use the same tactics (labelling the opposition as mentally backward with words like homophobia) as those who are the most ardent opponents to the idea of 'minding your own business' ie the Islamic Republic of Iran. As I said earlier, i'm on your side in this argument but if yourself and others are going to use words like homophobia to dismiss arguments on homosexuality then that will be taken to task.
Being opposed to homosexuality is not homophobia and shouldn't be dismissed as such.Quote:

Because as I said earlier, the word has been hijacked just as 'Islamophobia' was created to silence those who oppose Islam on good grounds. But thats clear then, that the best you can do in response to arguments against homosexuality is label your opposition as mentally backward.
Just in the same way that one of the biggest opponents of homosexuality, the Islamic Republic of Iran, labels homosexuals as. Pot. Kettle springs to mind. It simply reeks of intolerance (the same 'intolerance' many homosexuals can't stop complaining about, no doubt yourself included) when you simply label people who disagree with you as mentally beneath you.
Because I am a homosexual.... Kind of ignorant.
I've already said what my view on the matter is and I'm not going to repeat myself any further as you keep doing. Until you change the dictionary definition of the word I will continue to use it, but until then, thanks for your effort and time.
