Not being funny but thats so stupid, I spent 20 mins tops on my cracked copy of vista, same with XP. I've had a cracked version of vista since it came out and i've had no problems, windows is happy to install its automatic updates on it, everything is perfectly compatible, no crashes. Honestly you can blab on all you want about doing the right thing and it will save you so much time, and time is money and give me a lecture and bla bla bla bla but i'm not a 5 year old and so I spent my time wisely making sure I did it properly and as a result i've had the latest operating system installed on my computer for free for at least 6 years. In all honesty i've wasted more time replying to you than I did on it.
I love it how you say once your in a real job, well i'm at college and work part time so I think that my time is currently well spent and I can manage it for myself and secondly have you actually had any experiences with cracked operating systems because I have for many years and so I can say that they give you nil trouble if you do the job properly. If anything they are much easier to rip and are basically hassle free now in comparison to xp a few years ago that would give you trouble when installing various software, especially software published by microsoft itself. So it's a great time now to get a ripped OS.
One last thing, most pc builders do so as they want a cost effective computer with great performance for money, and most are on a budget and so alot of them do use cracked operating systems, many companies force os's into computer packages and this is one of the reasons that people turn to custom pc's, just looking at the users of linux, which mainly consists of people with custom built pc's you can easily see the type of operating systems these people go for and how they go about getting them.

Go over to hardforum.com and overclock.net and post polls asking who uses illegal vs who uses legal OSs and you'd be surprised. IMO I have had a much easier time with Vista because I bought it, just shove the serial key into the installer then press a button to activate, done for life.

Next time, split your posts into paragraphs too, make it easier on the eyes.

Why ask me to post polls, clearly you don't actually know or you would show me polls not ask me to make one...
Have you had any experience with cracked OS's because to me it seems like you have bought all your OS's.

I will give you my experience:
In the time that you would be purchasing your OS which would take days if bought online or the best part of a day if travelling to a nearby shop I would be downloading the iso and burning it onto a disc which takes no more than 30 clicks of a mouse to do, minimal effort.
After that I just put in the disc like you would put in yours (no need to put in a serial key lol) and done for life... I've had no problems after 2-3 years.

I don't see people's problems with those who use cracked OS's, I think that they are just trying to warrant spending 100 quid or so on it, downloading movies, games and music illegally is fine but an OS... :O

I am not getting into a petty argument about piracy, get off your high horse, it is up to the user wether they legitimatly buy the OS or pirate it. And by the way, I didn't read half of your post, waste of time.

Obviously thats a load of crap and you do feel guilty about piracy, how can i tell? because you just wrote this entire post defending your piracy when no one had even questioned it.

I simply said most people who build systems, just buy an o/s because its quicker and more convenient in the majority of cases.If you wana pirate feel free, personally i couldn't care less what you do. I'm just pointing out most people dont both pirating as spending a few extra quid really isnt that bigger deal. I expect a good chunk of the people probably just subscribe to technet and be done with it.

No one has attacked piracy or your desion to do so, i just said in my experience it aint worth the time. If your times worthless, then pretty much anythings worth the time, if alternately you could be getting paidfor something else in this time, your time becomes alot less worthless and you have less interest in wasting it sabvig a few quid on an O/S

Good for you, wow i'm sure no one else has ever managed to go to college and get a part time job...
Also, i have trouble believing you have any experience cracking operating systems or software, running a crack / installing an o/s thats pre cracked is not cracking software. Its useing a crack someone else made.

O/S's get updates so generally have more long term hassle than most software where being a few versions out of date dont matter. I'm not entirely sure how you can claim to speak for all pc builders over myself? I'm at least basing my opinion on about 20-30 pc builders i know, and polls at a variety of tech sites over the years. The only stuff that ever does generally seem to be mostly pirated in em is the adobe suites :/
TBH i would disagree, i'd say the reason most people custom build is because you can save money and just buy what you need, rather than simply to rebell against pre-installed operating systems. Also, whats linux got to do with your o/s piracy rant, its free to start with, also i have more linux installs running on none custom pc's than custom (mainly because i got a few old dells cheap of my uni)

Just like to add that I am an advocate of Piracy but the things I normally buy are the operating system, anti-virus and, when I used to use one since my network firewall has made it redundant, firewall.

Then why'd you feel the need to speal all that above about how privacy fine before anyone even insinuated it wasn't? I said people generally don't pirate o/s's that doesn't mean they don't pirate at all.. Alot of sites dont keep the poll data around after they close (from my quick look over), feel free to find some that show the opposite though if you disagree.

I would say in my experince pirating operating systems isnt worth the hassle, if it is for you, then keep doing so. My point is though, as far as i'm aware, the great majority do not.
