Anyway as I was saying, I recommend that you go and get your testosterone levels checked out. If they do come back as being too low (which I have a feeling they might) then they can help you. You shouldn't have to live so confused.

Very black and white opinions from you. This is 2011; girls don't have to "act like girls" and guys don't have to "act like guys" (the quotes implicit that these are old fashion views). I have a feeling your borderline ignorant remarks here were likely intended just to annoy Tom and so if that's the case you've only accomplished making yourself look immature and childish, and the rest of the progressing male population of the world is going to continue to embrace masculine and feminine behaviour in any pattern, variety, shape or form so long as they're comfortable with themselves.

Why are you using the year as some kind of excuse, how are things any different now? It's within men to be how we are, just like it's within woman to be how they are. So for one of the genders to suddenly decide they aren't a particular gender rings the alarm bells because it's just not right. If we were all like that then the human race would be extinct within a few generations as we wouldn't all be reproducing. Reproduction plays a massive part of our existence, everything from our sexual organs to hormones, all there so we can find the opposite sex attractive, search for our best partner to make the best offspring and so on. So for someone to suddenly decide that they are not included with this reproduction is a serious cause for concern, and as I have already said, I think part of what makes "Tom" male, whether it be his testosterone levels or whatever, isn't all as it should be which is causing him to feel this way.

Why and how is this a 'progressive' change? why is it also, that when it comes to social issues such as this that anything that differs from the self-proclaimed 'progressive' view is dismissed as being old-fashioned when infact girls still prefer on the whole masculine men and men prefer feminine females because we naturally gravitate to these features ie a strong jawline.

In other words, a family isn't important because we've advanced (aka have the state do everything for us) and a mother and father figure are primitive - try telling that to the millions who grow up in broken homes around the country thanks to selfishness and a breakdown of the family and yet you have the nerve to imply that the family and gender roles are somehow 'primitive' - I know which option i'd pick.

The clear picture from history actually shows that when a nation or civilisation is at the height of its greatness that it has some kind of strong moral system (be it religion or other) and that when that nation or civilisation declines these morals go down the toilet with it - our own nation isn't exempt from this decline just as the Roman Empire wasn't. Its blissful ignorance to label it as 'progress' when its the very opposite.

Too low for what? It's not a hormone that we require in abundance in order to live healthily, and I'm not really all that confused - other than perhaps confused as to why it's somehow "wrong" for a male to enjoy traditionally feminine things and vice versa

Are you really suggesting that things aren't different now to how they were previously? Not sure where you live but where I'm from there's certainly no need for me to act physically dominant in order to protect my clan, or to go out hunting to provide for myself and my family, or to suppress all emotions other than anger. "Just not right" is something that changes as society advances

What's reproduction got to do with it? Not caring about gender roles doesn't mean I don't believe in anatomical differences, that would be ridiculous as those do exist quite clearly. I've not said that I'm not male, looking down I can see I very much am, I'm just saying I don't see why having a penis means I have to act a certain way.

I quite agree, on the whole that is the case, as we are obviously still animals, albeit advanced ones. Most women will prefer rugged guys because they represent protection, but obviously as a person's needs change so do their wants. Women who are wealthy, healthy, and artistic (all components of high society) are more likely to want a partner who represents a high aesthetic as opposed to basic physical strength. This is however not strictly on topic as we're now talking about pretty boys vs butch guys whereas I was really more concerned with personality

I've never said that family isn't important, not sure how you get that from my view that men don't have to be hairy and fart all day. I was of the opinion that you could actually read, Dan.

So you believe it's actually immoral for a male to enjoy poetry or a female to enjoy football? Because that's what I was talking about, not some social revolution whereby we abandon family life and live in separate pods in which we crossdress and cut off our genitals.
