Organisations I'm involved with have similar alumni newsletters to keep those who have left updated with progress and goings on and I'm quite sure that habbo still sends out emails about recent promotions and such, I just don't think that The Box is the best format for that at habbox. Who says people don't want images of habbo in their inbox? Plenty of people, particularly avid habbo players, certainly do. Bastardising The Box format to send out emails to the no longer relevant is supposed to draw people in? ???
From what I understand, this marketing manager is focusing on non-habbo players. There is no use streamlining registration if marketing is targeted at older members, is there? What's being done to MARKET to HABBOs?
So I'm doing a few different things for Habbox, one is testing the current traffic, Habbox gets a tonne of traffic each day, yet doesn't actually engage with them, the people may view, but not register. I'm going to change that so they not only register, but then engage in posting etc.
Nope
yeh don't think they understood the jist.
It's not about that, I think its more of an outside prospective of someone who knows how to run and market companies irl. There was a PM sent to all managers (if anyone has it, they're welcome to post it) where I've clearly stated, if you don't want help, say to laura or matt, then I'll ignore your dept.
then the polls, most of the stuff I do requires me to work with someone for access, IE the Box I am working with Laura (who's writing it)
Sure, so I believe The Box will be pretty successful, its not directed at a niched userbase (ie it can be you, it could be someone who hasn't logged in for 3 years, it could be anyone)
It's going to be a non Habbo related newsletter that brings you the latest competitions, gossip, but it won't give you EVERYTHING, thats where the persuasive writing comes in to push them into viewing threads, etc.
You've made absolutely no sense. SEO is ok, but the main fact is it boosts them up in Google, but then doesn't do anything else... Biggest scam around (thus why people think marketing is a scam, because they get 0 leads off 'marketing' when people like your aunty do daylight robberys...)
Sure, I totally understand that every half decent company sends generic boring, spammy emails every month. This letter isn't to make new people register, its to give people small pickets of information every month. Sure some people won't be interested, some will.
Sorry my reply was quite short, Im actually in Thailand right now.
Once the split test for the register.php is made @Tom;
Because we're doing a split test on this, testing current state vs just the important forms.
Once that is done we move to phase 2 and so forth. I think with getting people to engage I have some pretty good ideas and ways, but heck I'm totally open to hearing anyone else's idea.

Businesses put so much emphasis on marketing
lol you're right, I could've sworn I saw SEO work in the official announcement but I've just went back to check and there's nothing there about that at all so I have absolutely no idea where I got this from. My bad.
I don't believe The Box will work. It's being sent to members via their email so perhaps someone might look at it for nostalgia sake because they haven't been here for 3 years and remember it back when they were a kid. They may even log in for a little bit (if they can remember their password) but that's as far as it would go as they've already moved on.
I think Kyle's point is that the most effective marketing would be on Habbo as that is where the new userbase are. I would agree with that.
Oh we're waiting for Skynus to do stuff that explains it
