Gotta love Steve Ballmer, just said this some minutes ago at the BUILD keynote:
"Seize the opportunity for developers, developers, developers!" If anyone remembers that video of him chanting developers :P
Tom Warren: 'I've never witnessed this much excitement in a Microsoft audience at a keynote before. It's electric'
Anyone know how to remove the build number watermark on the desktop?
Just wondering if any of you guys know, Is it possible for me to download this windows 8 Dev build onto a flash usb drive? Then install it from there. ( can just remove the memory stick from my laptop when i want to get rid of win8)
I want to keep my current OS (win 7) but also want to be able to run Win8 to try it out.
I know you can partition your hard drive but thats something im not comfortable doing.
Thanks if any of you guys know how i can install it without loosing my current os.
Gonna download this as 32-bit and 64-bit, and see if I can run it on my 2 decentish spare systems - my L300, and my spare desktop, Compaq Evo D51S with a 2GHz Pentium 4 -cries- Let's see what happens...
i jump up and down everytime my laptop starts and shuts down now
LOL I hope that when this is released on computers it has a Page Left/Right button haha...
Btw is anyone else having a problem when you type it randomly starts typing in a different word or whatever, just screwing up entirely?
You could give this a shot, I've never tried it but it claims to work for Windows 8:

There's many tutorials for various USB installations of Windows on the net too, if this one should prove to fail.
I'm not sure if that is exactly what the user wants. It sounds like he wants to have a portable version of Windows 8 so instead of actually installing it from the USB device he wants to boot a copy from the device - in other words use windows 8 with the memory stick in, take the stick out to use Windows 7. I'm not sure if its possible, I doubt it, but again I could be wrong. Even if you could you'd need lots of GB and most USB's can't hold that much.
