Why do people say "Happy Halloween" when Halloween isn't really the happiest of celebrations.
It's the day of the dead and where you celebrate those who've died.
Maybe it's because America has comercialised Halloween and brought about this trick or treating stuff?
What are your views on this?

I thought Halloween was where people were trying to banish the spirits of the dead?
Plus little kids don't know the meaning of it all, they just see it as a bit of fun :)
Cuz theres free candy involved. So that would explain the 'Happy' part for me :)

Well my point is that people who don't actually know all of that just say Happy Halloween because everyone else says it and the meaning of Halloween has moved on alot since then.Quote:

Yes but i think the U.S take it alot more serious. Especially on American Films during Halloween it looks awesome. Pumpkins down the streets. :D
