Whats the biggest monitor size you should have to put up with, right now my bg is 2000 wide is that going to work?
Where I work, I have a 32" monitor, thats about the biggest I have worked with.
I have a couple of 19" LCD's sitting side by side at home
I have sat infront of a 40" monitor. I was blind after I left the room.
It doesn't matter of the screen size really, it all depends on the screen resolution.

Is a 2000px wide ok considering resolution then? I have 1440 x 900. I'm getting another this weekend ;)
I have never heard of 2000px, I thought it went up at certain intervals

Well I've got 2720 x 1024 but thats two 19" dualscreen, so basicly if I put the site on 1 screen its 1280 x 1024 ;)
So I guesse a 2000px would do fine
Yeh It's as a bg, I can't wait till I get my second monitor tonight ;) how do I plug em in I know my computers capable something about two VGA or DVI ports I think ;S
