Inspire me spiritually, (like make me want to make music): Foo Fighters, RHCP, Radiohead, Audioslave
Inspire me musically (like how to make a song and set it up): Tom Morello from RATM/Audioslave, Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead, John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a lot of other lesser ones.
Freddie Mercury & John Lennon <3
Pete Doherty, John Lennon.
'nuff said.
Travis Barker - Drums - Blink182/+44/Transplants?boxcar Racer

Err
Hayley Williams
Gwen Stefani
Whenever you see me go on a 'spree' of an artist, ie listening to them for ages, it normally means I'm dissecting their music to see how it's set up, how the guitarists make their riffs and stuff. Then their influence will slowly make their way into whatever I'm writing at the moment. So right now that's the Beatles and Megadeth.
DAVE GROHL!!
Travis Barker
Tommy Lee
Joey Jordison.
Fred Durst!!!!!!!!!!!
The album Kid A by Radiohead inspires me to try something different when I try writing something.
Jonny Greenwood musically inspires me, and he makes me want to learn other instruments. He's played dozens of instruments in their songs, it's insane. Its like he knows everything. David Grohl is like that two, but he really only knows all the conventional stuff: Guitar, bass, drums, piano. Jonny just knows everything. Guitar, piano, bass, drums, synthesizer, xylaphone, banjo, hermonica, and probably about 500 thousand more.
jenny lewis omg she is amazinggg.
and no doubt (ie gwen when she has a brain), they are always different and never follow the crowd. iltsm.
Well I don't know who it is but the guitar riffs in metallica - enter sandman :)
Very good
Eminem. :p
Mike Portnoy
Dave Grohl
Jack Black
Mike Wengren
Moose
Travis Barker
Nicko Mcbrain
Matt Heafy
Umm, to make music it'd probably be RHCP, Travis Barker and Dave Grohl.
Tupac Shakur :)
I get ideas from everywhere, bunch of indie bands. I rarely get ideas from my favorite bands. I probably apreciate them too much to try to imitate.
Brahms actually inspires me to write sheet instead of riffs.
Brandon Barnes.
Rancid as a whole and Mark Hoppus
Travis Barker and Richie Valens.
Eminem.
Milo Aukerman but mostly Ian MacKaye
who founded the straight edge movement (or as good as did anyway)
who made the best hardcore album ever
who moved onto form Fugazi
the best punk band of all time
then in between all this he'd set up Dischord records, possibly the best record label.
he was in a band called embrace (not that crap indiepop one) and helped invent emo
then when fugazi entered an incredible indie band called the evens with his girlfriend who create such beautiful music that you cant believe it's the same guy who was shouting his head off on minor threat's albums
so every band he's been in he's reinvented himself
and caused revolutions within the punk scene
and taught a generation of kids to live without intoxications
that guy rules!
pete doherty.
yeah lets get drunk and smoke crack and get arrested and stufff!
i meant as a musician. :l
The spice girls.
nope, just that he's not really inspiring.
what makes you think that?
i find his music pretty bland, then he was kicked out the libertines for being a total idiot and he's always said he's quitting then he doesn't. and he even got his girlfriend hooked on class A drugs so she lost nearly all her jobs.
doesn't seem inspiring.
-shrug- depends on your taste i guess. i love his music. babyshambles are pretty awful, but the libertines were amazing. i guess i gotta give carl barat credit too though, for sticking by him the whole time.
yeah libertines > babyshambles anyday.
it's not really the drugs, more that his addictions are the only things that keep him famous and then he's somehow the saviour of rock n roll.
he's no way the saviour of rock n roll but despite what drugs he's on, when im listening to the music i find it very enjoyable. i dont really like him as a person, but musically i find him inspiring. same as the gallaghers.
i like babyshambles (: i mean, the libertines are better but still, i do like babyshambles.
anyway; i find jepha howard particularily inspiring. he's never seen as like, a main member of the used, but yet it's jeph that deals with the fans. and messages people back, and informs everyone.. so i find him inspiring. he manages the music & but still makes the time for the nation.
i mean, i love bert don't get me wrong.. but i do believe jepha deserves recognition.
secondly; anyone from chiodos or the blood brothers. thank you please.
babyshambles new EP is good, but the album was about 20% good.
I LOVE JEPHA. he's so down to earth.
