Do you think that it's like, inevitable? Like as it's already set in some way before someone is born what their sexuality is? Or like, do you think it's adaptable through childhood, or their environment? Or like, through genetics?
I'd like to see other peoples views on this because I've been thinking about it a lot recently.
Their enviroment, especially how other boys/girls act towards them,
I had a thought that it could be due to like, having divorced parents? I thought if you only really grow up with a mum there all the time [like I did] it could change things.

It's either my hormones or the people but I feel more attracted to boys than I used to be. Like I said though, might just be my hormones.
I have grown up with just my mum, and two grandparents. That might be a factor too. Not sure.

I think your born either gay or straight, I just don't see how your enviroment can decide your sexuality. The same way as someone can't suddenly turn from gay to straight, or straight to gay.

I hate how people are looking for a 'gay gene'. Its really dumb. First off, that wont help. If for some reason there is a 'gay gene' (there isnt, it makes no sense for there to be), people will start saying 'Its not their fault theyre gay!' which is aweful. It makes it sound like a disease.

Theres more truth in the myth that sticking your finger up your bum will stop hickups than the finger one for being straight or gay.
I personally think it's because of the environment and your surroundings. I think that if you live with your mum and a few sisters you're more likely to become gay/bi because of the amount of females around you and therefore getting more female stuff e.g them saying a guy on tv is fit and stuff like that. However I'm not saying this is relevant to all people who live with their mums/sisters. Also if you are around a homophobic dad you may become gay but be reluctant to admit it and try and make yourself straight - impossible?
No matter what people say it has nothing to do with social facors or things which happen in your life. If your parents got divorced it would have nothing to do with it, if you had an older sister it would have nothing to with it etc..
It's determined before you were born, simple as. And from when you are born it has every influence on your life, even when you were young and you did not even realise. For instance, if you got on really well with girls and many other things. About the post above, living with lots of girls does not make a difference. For example, i know a boy with 5 sisters and his dad is away from home a lot but hes not gay, and hes hardly feminate. Maybe if you do live with lots of affluential female characters you adopt some of their ways, but it cannot affetc you psycologically [sp?], for someone to be turned gay they'd have to be pretty darned messed up for someone to shape their sexuality.

In a way is preffrence, but its a decided prefrence. I can say, i like cheese but i'm deciding not to eat it. Anyway, it is NOT environment.
Environment can shape many things, for instance if you grow up in a rough council estate in a family of chavs you are likely to become one yourself, and adopt some of your parents ways.
But if a gay couple adopted a child when thye were a baby can you say 100% that it will grow up to be a homosexual? You cannot. It's impossible to shape someones emotions, but it is possible to shape somebodys personality.
