It was probably thought up half way during GoW development .
Like above said, they have a large team and are given stages to make so once you have finished your stage for the game you will probably move onto making GoW2.
As start already. They started both game 1 and 2 at the same time. Now GoW 1 is already out, GoW 2 is on the middle stages of being prepered.
They're probably working on the 3rd one aswell
GoW 2 is coming out in December, or early next year.
Not december, probably next year or the year after. I'd say maximum 2 Gears on the 360 and I'm looking forward to the 2nd one. :)
I'm sure that Epic said it was gonna be a trilogy.

Yeah, Gears rules. I haven't played it much recently I must admit, due to Shadowrun. And the new update with the awful lancer power is not helping things either.
