Rant about "coming soon" MMOCC's.

It's really, really, REALLY irritating to come onto the forum to see thread after thread of: "I'M OPENING A NEW MMOCC WOOOOOO!!!". It's always the same thing on every thread:

"It's for x type of market, it's free, but you can buy bonus's for x Club and x Credits"

The really annoying thing is that it will most likely not make it. Okay, yes, fair play to some MMOCC's that actually have a decent client and fanbase; ie. BittyBay, but it's more then likely that you'll either give up, or not have the money, or realise that people won't code a whole client for nothing.

If you STILL are failing to see my point, you should realise that SO many people are trying to make games and MMOCCs like Habbo - ie. there are three new "MMOCCs" - I found all those on page one of the projects forum.

It's getting so stupid that people are doing competitions such as:

Please, please, PLEASE stop inventing these stupid MMOCC's for the sake of it. It most likely wont work, you probably wont make any money and it more then likely will be a epic fail.

Itsmyland has a client and its excellent and I was suprised when I entered it.

Bloody hell, I couldn't give a toss, it's the fact that total moronic MMOCCs start up with 12 year old owners who think they can run it from their bedroom.

We're just pointing out that what you said was incorrect. 2 of your 3 examples have clients.

Well Im not 12 but I think I have most definatly proved you can run MMOCCs out of your bedroom. I have created clients for 3 seperate MMOCCs.

I persnally can assure you, None will break the market you need to have thousnds of millions to break it specialy facing runescape,Habbo,coke music ye get me, Fair due's to everyone who tries and makes a few bob but you aint gonna make over a grand.

Most of the successful MMOCCs have developed their own client & server 100%. You have taken shortcuts to make your MMOCCs by using a pre-made server, client, etc.

Just ignore them if they bother you, let them get on with there project. They are having fun.

Most of you are right. You do need quite abit of money to make a successful MMOCC, but at the end of the day they are fun to make and play, so why does it bother you?

I would prefer to hear about the new MMOCC when it is being released rather than knowing its months away from perfection.

That way I won't get bored waiting.

None of us care if we take out habbo. It's the fun of it. All most of care about is breaking even every month.

To be honest, I agree. None of these MMOCC's will get anywhere amazing like Runescape or Habbo, but hey, if they want to put their money and time into something they enjoy, then let it be :)

Just because Habbo is an MMOCC and an IMCE doesnt mean all MMOCCs have to be IMCEs?

Perhaps they are just making them for fun and not for popularity.

Every site is turning into a bloody game site these days. Only half will make it and those that have, well done :)

I don't know anything about Zetolic etc but I know I wouldn't pay to play for somthing that has been created which would probs close a month later..

But if there not harming anyone with what there making leave them to it?, why can't you just learn to ignore?

I'm gonna shed my rant on this, and I've done it on MMOCCF I'm sure.

Most MMOCC founders I've seen, either dont think through what they're doing or are blinded by the possibility of making something amazing and being idolized by their users. There are a few (Zetolic, SokuCity, Bittybay, LimeCity) who I think have a genuine chance of making something of themselves. However, it's the way these 4 MMOCCs which I've mentioned, make their decisions & take their actions which will get them to a status of popularity. Club Penguin is a good example of a new MMOCC, and it's pretty popular nowadays. Of course, it's made by Miniclip which was popular already which you could call cheating... But isn't the whole business game all about looking out for number one?

Some MMOCCs are severly unprofessional, and I shudder just thinking about them. I don't want to name them, as I don't want to get into an argument with the owners who think they're doing a good job. I've already told them they've been making mistakes, and that there's a better way to go about it however my 'wisdom' (as it were) is being ignored. I'm not a MMOCC owner, so I guess thats why they'd never listen to me. A member of their targeted audience too, ironically.

It takes a sequence of unique, great ideas to make a game successful. Habbo and Runescape are big, and they can't be taken down. You have to accept that fact in this business, and instead join them. People who say they're going to be 'Habbo-beaters' are really out of their depth & need to hold their breath before they drown (metaphors ftw). I've seen ideas from all 4 of these, and each have a pretty unique idea about themselves, or don't have one yet... But it'll only be a matter of time that they do. I know Soku City do, but I'm not going into details any further on that.

FYI REDNECK, most MMOCCs take alot of money so I doubt they just do it for 'enjoyment'. Enjoyment comes with the package I guess, but thats not the main drive when you want to be a million-pound company. But to achieve that company target, you need to be an 'outside the box' thinker, which some people have and some people don't. After all, Facebook used to be just a spec on the internet but now it's bigger than Myspace & Bebo just because they thought out of the box. Go figure, the tide can turn very easily.

Capturing the imagination of the users is one big thing that you have to do if you want to be successful. I notice that alot in Habbo, and Runescape. On a happier note, I look forward to seeing Habbos very own Lozzoling in his development of his MMOCC. :)

I agree Pyroka. I find it annoying though how club tropica has so many users when it has shown no proof of client and has only just arrived and yet Soku city so few and its been in development for over 2 years and in my opinion it looks alot more promising. Whats you username on MMOCCforum by the way?

Well someones in a stress, can't you go stress to ClubHabbo, they might care.
