Lmao with an F

I'd like to give some feedback on the rule that doesn't allow us to use "*****" - I've just got an infraction for it which I think is harsh (Don't move this thread to ask forum moderators as I'm givign feedback on what I think).

If we're going to receive an infraction for it, shouldn't it be filtered? It's a term that is used day in, day out on Habbo and with most other teenagers over MSN. Why give people a bad record for saying something most people probz don't even know that thier not allowed to say?

Also, it's great how the second I critisise jesus I start to get infraction coming out my bum. Some of the mods on this forum are starting to get corrupt as hell.

Edit: I've just relised how it's now filtered. If it's filtered, why did I recieve an infraction for it?

Goodness knows, the system is there to stop it, so the mods don;t need to act. If they acted, then that should be a problem "/ What is the word btw? You are allowed to avoid it as long as it seems acceptable (or I've not been ifnracted before at least) :)

That should be allowed really, considering shiz is and the A word is filtered...

Probably because we're official now? The rules always get harsher when fansites become official. :(

you can remove the filter on habbo...

There isn't a filter on Habbo so I doubt there is rules regarding swearing for official fan sites.

I agree with Gomme. Why isn't "lmao" filtered when the a word in it is filtered? :S

The rules arn't consistent.

Yes but if that's the case, why isn't "lmao" filtered as the a word in that is filtered. Not that I want it to be filtered as it's harsh. You're telling us that we can't use common internet terms that are used by most of us on a daily basis. This is the only forum I've ever seen this rule on.

It was not an infraction, it was a warning so it's not as harsh. "*****" is filtered, but in the post you clearly wrote that - not sure how you bypassed it, unless it has been added to the filter recently.

So? It's a common internet term used by children of 10 through their teens and adults, and members joining this forum should be in their teens, and it's not even harsh unless you like the nanny culture type things. Plus the other word for donkey is filtered and lmao and lm*ao has it in! Is ROFFL filtered by the way? Because it translates to "rolling on F word floor laughing."

And as Wootzeh said, it can't be used as an offensive term, which is why piss was unfiltered (strangely not the 4 letter D word which was asked to be unfiltered).

The 'f' word is a lot more harsh and unpleasant.

Well if it wasn't added to the filter until recently, surely it should be removed as it was unfair that I had no previous warning and if it had apeard in stars I would have removed it and replaced it with "lmao" :S

It's always been classed as avoiding the filter and always will be, because that's what it is. As is the alternative to 'gtho'.

If it's not filtered, as far as we know it's ok. You say Lmao, so if you to make that sound more pronounced and show that you're laughing more, you put an F in. TBH in my books lmao with an f is 'laughing as flipping *** off'.

I agree, I made a remark about him and two minutes later was warned by him.

Why asume that it always has? Habbox has been around since 2004. It wasn't then and it has never caused anyone any offence. (That I'm aware of). Infact, I've never come accross anyone that finds it offencive.

I am interested actually, technically you can't filter an abbreviation because you can change the words. LM*AO could be "Laughing my flipping bottom off."

Yeh i asked jesus to remove something then he refused, as i used rules to back up why it should be he had to do it, since then he's gave me an infraction and 2 warnings (within last 3 days?). :rolleyes:

For the record, "laugh my flipping 'at off" was what I was actually saying. ;)

And that's two replys I've seen with members having the same problem as me with a super moderator. I was going to send a report to nvrspk4 about him then relised I had a life lol.

Maybe they don't find it offensive but it's still a filtered word, and by 'always has been' I meant ever since I became a moderator. Everyone gets infracted for it and they have done since I can remember.

May I point out why Habbox Forum should unfilter the A word?

Habbox.com has it written on the site, adding to that it isn't offensive:

Go down to abbreviations. Surely if Habbo allowed them to do that, then surely Habbox Forum can have it unfiltered? :rolleyes:

But what I'm saying is it didn't apear in stars like it obviously did for everyone else. So it's unfair on me that I didn't get a warning (the word apearing in stars) so that I could edit it and avoid receiveing an infraction.

Because you're taking the brunt for it as if you do :P just pointing out that that Habbox.com don't find it offensive, even though they're the ones official, not HabboxForum.com. Also, I think that rule needs changing to allow lm*ao, because it's just as bad as lmao, and you can claim the f means flipping :P

REMOVED isn't filtered. It contains the F word in. Hey, why not make every abbreviation with an f, s, p, c, whatever sweard word, filter it.

As I said, I'm not 100% sure on this and I'll ask about it. I can remember other people using it not long ago and it not appearing in stars, so maybe it was filtered.

Even so, you still knew what you were posting and if you'd of read the rules (not sure if people do now :P) then you'd of seen it's not allowed anyway.

Well then it's their own fault for not reading the rules. I know it can be a drag reading them, but that's why there's the bold red text that sums it up and the other text to give a description.

They might as well censor every word, they might be abbreviations. Forum <- contains the f word, filter plox.

The mods on this forum were starting to get sooooooo much better before I went for a break. It's people like you that are starting to make it infraction heaven again. Seriously, why infract him when all he's trying to do is make a point. How can he put across his opinon on the subject if he's going to get an infraction for it. Forums are designed for members to give their opinion and you're preventing him from doing that. I mean fair enough you're a new mod but what you're doing is just ****. You're giving people a bad record which could one day prevent them working for Habbox.

Axel make sure you report it as that is one of the most unfairest infractions I've seen.
