Usually if I replied to a reply like that to a thread like this I would get an infraction.
Yes, Dreamweaver is rubbish, you shouldn't really need to view the "web" but, I use Zend Studio for eclipse, and that's amazing, maybe you should just live view the file from the location in the browser.. Would that not save a lot of hassle?
Lol,
I have been told this many a time, but im stuck for software worthy of the job dreamweaver does, as its easy to use for me, any reccomendations?
My personal favourite for coding is Coda.
I wish i had a mac now, so tempting 8-) That program seems quite unique (from what ive seen)
Im getting a mac. it was a mistake getting this dell.
Dreamweaver is awesome.
I use dreamweaver, and nothing is wrong with it?
But anyway, Notepad does the job just as good, so try it.
I like editing it without the actual html code, its less hastle to edit it and be able to see what it looks like rather than keep checking in my browser.
Sorted the issue, dreamweavers fine for moi :D
I was reading about visual part of it, I use firebug to highlight divs etc, eg:

Just dualboot with Mac OS X, mac hardware is terrible, the OS is pretty god damn fine. I hate Foxconn.
It's cheap, it's made by Foxconn. A lot of PC's hardware last's a lot longer, an old iMac with all sorts of protection didn't last long. 5-6 years? PC's can last a lot longer. Foxconn are cheap
To avoid being banned for posting off topic, I'll quit whilst I'm ahead.
Firebug looks pretty good. Coda seems pretty alright.
I use Coda for the html and CSS Edit for the CSS obviously.
I've never had a problem with dreamweaver. It's got a code interface too so its not a problem in the slightest.
Did the template just download an index.hmtl file? or was it the entire directory with images folder etc?
I'll probably get extremely flamed for saying this.. but dreamweaver is a waste of space, you can do so much more in Zend Studio for eclipse, it helps you if you have code errors, even the tiniest, like missing out a semi colon or something, I'm pretty clumsy like that and make mistakes like that as I type at a fair fast speed, it even explains what a function does, which saves me visiting the "PHP Bible" as someone reffered to it as.
like what?
No you just said dreamweavers has features that other IDE's don't, please tell me which features?
It's Dreamweaver all the way for me
Just check out these

now - that or some crap editor?
I like that up there but, it reminds me of a better type of FTP Program. I use Dreamweaver, I never changed because I've gotten so used to it.
I just noticed how we all just went off topic.
Tbh I prefer phpdesigner than zend 8-) I hate the FTP module in PHPdesigner, its so crap.
lol off topic here
@calon, is your last name Indian or something, I think I had a mate with that surname (thats if that is your surname)
Ahh right, nothing wrong with a foreign father, I got a foreign Mum *****.
Dreamweaver for HTML & CSS, and occasionally for PHP.
Zend for PHP.
No Im not being ignorant, you're taking it the wrong way if you're going to say something back it up.
You're talking about AIR applications - an adobe thing im guessing (ive actually never heard of it) I won't argue and take your word.
and if you talk about being ignorant, look at this "Um, you just got sat?" - I pity you.
