May just be a move to slim down the forum a little, if memory serves the users viewing display is relatively resource intensive.
Always like to have a look at who's viewing the thread so I hope it comes back. :)

Blame vB, it's what I do. Surely a company like vB could slim it down a bit? It's no wonder IPB lead the way in terms of quality and what comes with the forum as standard. vB got quick reply and other features months/years/versions later than IPB :/
Duno the VB setup to well, but maybe offer it as an opt-in option on profile, then those who use the feature can just activate it for emselves, without the overhead of provideing it to all the users who never even glance at it.
+ IPB is more efficent thanks to a epic cacheing system, though converting a db the size of habbox's may give the habbox server a heart attack from which it may never recover :P
Plus i imagine a software change would be pain in terms of reinstalling all the mods and addons / confusing alot of members with minimal forum experince outside hxf "/

If this thread is going to go in the way of a vB vs IPB contest I will close it.
Habbox has always used vB, the staff that run the forum are experience in vB. I myself used to work with vB for a company back in Version 3.0.x, it will always stay as vB.
Converting a 3gb database into an IPB will most definately result in copious amounts of data loss, downtime, tears and frustration. I would probably suffer an anger stroke which I am not risking.
If we really want it back then its about time we cut down the number of forums we have.
Some of them VIP(+) sections don't really get used, getting rid of them would be a start?Quote:

Old threads are extremely useful though :( People can find their original threads, old arguments and posts by old staff members. I don't think many people will be happy :PQuote:

Chat, Blogs and POSSIBLY the Arcade (ask the users), aren't used very often, I go into Chat a lot and no one is ever in there ;/

Chat was never a good idea and the only reason it exists (from what I remember) was because it was a one off payment so it might as well of been used, but it isn't so might as well ditch it. Arcade is a possibility, it's not that great if past arcade feedback is anything to go by. People will probably moan about it being removed but really won't care, some people are famous for complaining because of the novelty, rather than praticalities. Blogs I don't know.
