It's like a month old and may of already been posted but I don't think so. If you read it, it says how he wanted to be a girl since the age of 2, asked if he could wear a girls uniform at school but they said no so he now wears make up and bangles. It's quite weird but also rather interesting. Personally I think he needs a reality check, perhaps he has some kind of mental problems?
The NHS should give NOBODY sex-changing treatment. It shouldn't even be a matter we are discussing right now.
i agree with under taker, he's a spoilt little idiot with an attention seeking disorder that has gone to far.
People get boob jobs and face jobs and other surgery on the NHS because they are 'depressed', if someone has been diagnosed with the disorder then I dont see why it should not be avaliable for them to get the treatment.
give it to him, it'll be fun. That and also why shouldn't he get a sex change.

I saw this programme quite a while ago about children wanting sex changes & they had to give them pills and stuff so they would start puberty/periods/facial hair and it was basically about kids, at a young age wanting to be the opposite sex. It was quite scary because the kids got bullied quite a lot.
They pulled this guys (well not technically a guy) pants down and he had a vagina so he got bullied and everyone laughed at him.
Depression is part of life. I was medically depressed for about 6 months but I didn't have a boob job to make up for it. Unless it's causing medical harm - no one should be given boob jobs/plastic surgery/sex change etc etc.Quote:

I'm echoing what others have said: if he wants it he should pay for it, not use the NHS. They say he's depressed or whatever, suffering, but so are people with no money yet they're not being handed loads of cash...
Nothing should be allowed until they are responsible enough, 16 atleast.
And on the NHS? Never should it be allowed. Things like breast enlargement etc is a joke unless it's privately paid.
I guess there's more than one side of this debate.
Firstly if it's wrong or not. I'm thinking your chromosones can tell you this.
Secondly no, it should never ever be on the NHS, it isn't life-threatening and could easily be dealt with.
He should be allowed to have one done ONCE he reaches a certain age. I think he's too young right now to understand everything.
I think it's fair enough to get it on the NHS but only where he is a lot older. I mean someone like that can get really, really down about things like that and I think it's only fair that the NHS do something to help them. If I was in that situation and I could not afford private healthcare then I would hope the NHS would make the right decision in regard to helping me - providing proper evaluation deems it a necessary action to take. I do agree that he is far too young, though.

The boy obviously isn't normal. Wanting to be the opposite sex is messed up. It's possible that he has turned so feminine because his father left him at the age of 2. I'm not suggesting that all people who lost their father at a young age turn feminine but at the first signs of him saying he wanted to be a girl, perhaps his mother accepted it and went a along with it. His father would of took none of it and the boy would of stopped saying "ooh I want to be a girl and love boys, I'm in the wrong body". It is common for boys to turn bad if they are brought up without a father. If the mother is too soft with the boy, the boy will start behaving badly and wanting his own way and know that he won't get in trouble for doing things, that's what dads are for. The NHS should not waste money on silly little boys like him, if he goes private then fine, if he doesn't have the money then that's just tough, perhaps his mother might have the cash to pay someone to sort his mind out though?Quote:

Edit - They granted it to her to get a change because they realised she was actually serious about becoming a girl.
If it's been medically diagnosed then the government in Canada waves the green flag. I thought it was the same sort of deal in most places.
I remember that documentary on channel four about younger kids wanting sex changes. Obviously it's quite simular but they have time to grow into the opposite sex by taking treatment. I think that 14 is too young for a person to fully decide what they want.

The world gets weirder and weirder by the day, like cop on woman your child's male you can't go changing that, I don't agree that anyone should get a sex change, its completely wrong IMO.
It's simple really: he was born with a willy and he shall die with a willy barring some sort of willy accident.
He's too young to make such a huge decision, if he really wants it he should be made wait until he's 18 at least.
Some of you people do not understand, you say it's stupid that they expect NHS to do anything but the only reason this hit the news is his age, most of you have missed the point completely, being "in the wrong body" is actually a medical condition that has to be treated one way or another, it may not be a life threatening condition but nor is chlamydia, I'm sure you'd want the NHS to pay for you to get rid of that if you got it, the kid feels like he's in the wrong body, that is generally something that someone will always feel, he'll never be happy unless he becomes a girl so I see no reason why he shouldn't, the article actually says the mum wants the NHS to give him some medication to stop puberty, not actually have a the actual sex change.
