AVG Free
its really good tbh, i dont know much about it but it does the job :P
Also AVG free, it's perfect :)
Microsoft Security Essentials, it's silent, hidden, automatic and MS know Windows better than anybody else.
i've used loads in the past but atm i'm using avast! and it works perfectly :)
norton internet security
AVG Free, I would rate it 8/10 & it is protective imo
ESET Smart Security, then I tried Kaspersky, now I've gone down the free route of Comodo Firewall with Avira.
All of them were brilliant, will probably go back to ESET SS.
I've heard incredibly good stuff about Microsoft's Security Essentials, it's meant to rival even the paid one's. Definitely the choice if you're going down the free route from what I've read on technology websites.
I use NOD32 and have done for over 3 years without a problem :)
Avira AntiVir, Comodo Firewall and Spyware Terminator with Spyware Blaster. I used to use avg but the new one is becoming resource hungry and bloated
Microsoft Security Essentials - it puts all the anti-viruses used in this house and what I've used before to shame :)
Norton antivirus - it doeasnt lag your comp or give you repeated stupid popups for scans and stuff, ontop its really effective
I don't use any AV because I don't download crap.
Yeh. Made a mistake and accidently typed an e?
Everyone knows Norton is resource hungry.
Yep, i am using Norton and its good :)
Norton is trash, no matter how recent it is
MS:SE pretty much beats all the other free AVs and it's better than many of the paid ones. NOD32 is still best though.
Good Man!
You don't have to, if someone on your network gets for example Conficker and you're unpatched then it will spread to you because your relative is within the 'Trusted zone' so the Windows Firewall will let it in.
To be honest, anti-viruses are pointless (Except on-access scanners) because if you have a virus then you cannot trust that installation again and you should reinstall.
I used NOD32 in the past, however I want to re-download it but that website which gave out serial keys is dead now... I want to use NOD32 and but I try out Microsoft's Security Essentials
I now use Microsoft Security Essentials.
Kaspersky - seems alright, dont notice it, haven't been infected with anything yet
As of today, Microsoft Security Essentials, but was AVG Free.
I use Norton Internet Security 2010, but I used to have Microsoft SE.
Microsoft Forefront Client Security
I've used Avast, Norton, AVG, McAfee and a few others. But I'm currently using Kapersky Internet Security 2009.
No viruses, malware or attacks so far :)
That doesn't mean it's good, it may just not notice viruses.
The detection rate can vary by up to 10%, would you risk it?Quote:
To be fair, it's not that amazing, and some people may find NOD32 and Norton okay, there's nothing at all with them, as they all do the same job MSE is relatively new and under-rated, so naturaly not many people will know of it.
Trend Micro Internet Security pro
what is panda anti-virus like
I've used a few.
NOD32 = Brilliant, no issues there.
AVG Free = Ok for the free ones but not a big fan of it no more.
ESET Smart Security = Have used this for nearly two month and I like it. No issues what so ever. :)
Norton is hardly crap.. It's been getting way over the last few years.. but yeah there all relatively the same
I had issues with AVG too when it was installed on a family members laptop. It caused more problems then it did good and i have no idea why.
