A Mint cake is worth 34.6k... not 18m
im guessing you dont merch much on runescape lol. talk around you will realise why mint cakes sell for that much and why there worth that much.
example: u have 18mil worth of junk. you do a skill and u cannot sell these items in ge so u just dump them. or instead u trade the junk with a mint cake to merchenter in w2 or w6 you will make youe money bk or merching it you can get a decent rising item before it reaches his peak.

Show us a thread on rs forums where they are being sold for 300m or whatever it is you said
my advise is before repling on my thread to go to w2 and stand by the rich people and ask them whats with mint cakes ok =]

Mint cakes are a new form of currency created by traders to combat the rising economy in RuneScape.
These things go for 10m+ a pop.
Mind you, they are only valuable if you have junk to trade with it.

They are hard to get hold of, they come from the Gnome food game, in which you can get the scarf's and goggle, but all these take ages to get especially the mint cake, this is why its extremely rare its pretty much like an Easter egg but can still be put into the game. They are impossible to guy on GE at max, and so they are traded at massive prices which merchants love to.
They updated it though and its more common to get mint cakes from the Gnome food game, so thats why they've crashed.
