Mine aren't, but my girlfriend's parents are really strict and it really angers me because she doesn't deserve it. she's like 17 too and they treat her like a child. her older sister, whose now 22, moved out when she was 15 because she hated her stepdad and how her mum changed since she married him. I think the stepdad is a right anal and I despise him, I know he pays the bills and stuff but that's her stepdad and he bosses her about so much, he's even abused her at times.
Her house is for sale atm because her stepdad may be getting a new, better paid job in Stoke-on-Trent and six weeks ago, they had people viewing their house and her room wasn't as tidy as they expect, so they rang her while she was at work and told her when you get home you're in trouble, big trouble. they confiscated her phone and laptop for 5 weeks. she didn't even know people were going viewing the house either, it just annoys me and i say to her do something about it, she's already walked out once before and her parents threatened they'll disown her if she does it again, i said you can happily live with me :/
in all fairness to, her house is up for sale at £210,000. it would never get that much, it's detached and that but it's small inside, so hopefully they don't move.

They don't care who i hang around with, i'm 19 now. They know i'm an adult, they allow me to play music as loud as i want (i obviously don't if they are home..). If someone complains dad will tell them to come to me because i can deal with my own things.. They don't take my objects either, i mean, i'm more then old enough.. and yeah.

No and hopefully i shall be moving in September for university.

My parents let me do whatever i want. I choose/chose not to be an idiot.

I'm 17 years old and I have no freedom whatsoever. At the moment because of exams my parents don't even let me go into town in weekends just for a couple of hours. Sometimes they switch the internet off because they're mean :@ and I get shouted at quite a lot and BLEURGH

- Who to hang about with
They don't really care about this, I tend to just throw a few names at them that they know to make them happy rather than "well basically you know none of them", so in reality I always lie about who I'm out with for convenience as I don't have to explain people to them that way :P

- Education
They want me to do well, particularly my dad and regularly talk to me about this, they've never really looked into me doing homework or revision though and seem quite relaxed about it. They used to be very strict about it (When it didn't matter) but now it does they don't seem all that bothered about what I do when it comes to education.

- Attitude
Hmm they pick up quite well when I'm moody and using a different tone of voice, they'll easy take offence to this as a rule but I'm generally quite a negative person and they never moan at me for that.

- Allocated time you have to be home
Don't usually have one, if I have to be back cause we're going out and I was then late they'd be pretty annoyed but I'd always meet the time then anyways.

Never been an issue as they've never confiscated anything from me.

- Who to hang about with
Not really. They've never stopped me or forced me not to hang around with people, they've only asked me not to when I was a child.

- Education
Again, they don't really care so long as I am happy doing what I am doing. They respect its my own choice whatever it is.

- Attitude
When I was younger and used to throw sulks they would be quite annoyed with me. Looking back they were completely justified! These days we're all pretty mellowed out so this never comes up.

- Allocated time you have to be home
Not really either. I normally give a very rough time (occasionally just "cya later") and come back when I like. When I was younger they preferred me to be home for tea and would prefer to drop me up/ pick me up if it was late. Oh and their one rule if alcohol is involved is "if you throw up, we rub your face in it and you clean it up".

They'd have to dismantle half my room to do that :P. I've never misbehaved bad enough to have this done to me, they've done it to my sisters though.

Overall my parents, grandparents and such are pretty liberal. Could be just I've never really been that much of a trouble maker (A)

she knows most of the people who i hang around with and she doesn't have a problem with them. if they were out of control i think she would mind because she used to get angry at my brother (who is now 22) when he was friends with a trouble causer, i think she would be strict if they were like that. she's kind of fussed when it comes to education, if i was sick or something she wouldn't ask any questions or force me or anything but if it is say a holiday, she hates having me time off for that. attitude is a weird one, i'm never really badly behaved so there is nothing to be strict about. she's never strict about when i have to be home, even when i'm partying & she never confisicates items from me

They're not strict. A few years ago I started to go about with someone who I didn't realise was a complete nutjob and went about smashing windows and my Mum was getting annoyed but I eventually realised what he was. That's not now though. They know I want to do well in school, my Dad always asks me about school, My Mum doesn't really ask cos she knows I'm fine with it. They tried to ground me once, it didn't work, I just left.

Used to not really be bothered tbh. Not that i actually hung around with anyone dodgy.

Wanted me to do well but didn't push me. In school never really asked what i was doing or checked i was doing homework or whatever. Just expected me to get on with it.

Don't really care.

Used to be a bit tight in year 9/10 but in years 11/12/13 i just came back whenever i wanted to.

she asks who i'm going out with and asks for a contact number if i go out of town all night, might seem ott but she has all reason too.

wish she pushed me into doing more and gave me more encouragement but she always says well done + shes proud of me when i do well

well me n mum are quite different i'm more opinionated & she's a total pushover. it's like i'm mum sometimes, she always tells me to be nicer and more sensitive to people's feelings. if she's the one in a mood she'll have a go at me over anything but if she's in a good mood and i'm not she'll treat me like a baby n laugh at me:(

Well, I only live with my mum and I'v never been grounded lol.

She still worries about me if she goes away for the night or if I'm not home by 11pm LOL.

never pushed my mum into finding out how strict she is, never really seen the point. She's pretty reasonable anyway, i.e. she'll cave in eventually. Going out wise, only time I've ever come home slightly drunk was at like 11 and that was the last day so I guess that was an exception, but otherwise when I go out I'll just stay I'm staying over at someone else's house and not say I'm going out. Lying is bad but keeps her happy :). And pretty much I've had the same group of close friends for a long long long time and even if she doesn't like them, she understands they're good people and we look out for each other.

and lol at her if she tried to ground me, there would be a bigggg fight from me.

They used to be, i used to hang around with real bad scumbags. When i look at the people i used to knock about with it shows that my parents were right because my old mates are always getting locked up and taking drugs and that. Still talk to them or whatever but i don't hang with them.

When i was at school, they wanted me to do well but they were never on my back or anything. They are more like "its your life and its upto you if you wanna do good, but we want you to". Now im at college and working, they want me to do my best but again they're quite laid back, except for work, my mother always wants me to turn up for work and with some of the circumstances im in at the moment, thats understandable haha.

Im usually a positive person anyway and more or less always happy. If im tired and snappy, i don't tend to take it out on my parents anyway.

Nah, i don't have one. If im out getting destroyed, i usually come home at like 3AM+, my mams cool with that, and when im at my dads house, he's usually sound with it aswell.

When i was younger i got my decks confiscated from me and wasn't allowed on my laptop, i got in trouble with the police bad cuz i used to hang with losers so they had every right to do that haha. Now im older and wiser i don't do stupid things, and even if i get arrested now for some reason, they probably wouldn't take anything off me cuz they treat me like an adult.

Nope, last year they were stricter, but this year, especially after i passed my driving test, they've just let me do whatever i want. i think they realised that ill be moving to dundee to go to uni for 4 years in august, so they dont want to ruin the time they have left with me.

Education -
My Dad is strict in Education, though my mum isn't... at times I don't know who's side to go with...

Who I go out with -
They aren't strict on who I go out with, they don't care really

Attitude -
I'm more of a happy & friendly person, so I don't think they're strict with that

Getting Things Confiscated from you -
Yeah, They do that. When I don't proform my best in exams etc. they take things off me such as my Laptop. I don't really care, haha

Nope, my mum's okay with anything and my dad was pretty down to earth.

-- Could hang out with anyone, I tend to not mimic those around me (negative behaviour wise).

-- I was dreadful at homework, but they were supportive and taught me alot as well as school, so it's all good :)

-- Only really got told not to have a strange attitude towards certain events. Like hysterity I'd probably get a bit of a quiet talking to in private or public, not yelled at.

-- More advised, rather than strict rules, but I used to get back at a reasonable hour, or on time depending :P At least I got back, is their understandig.

They hate it when I hang out with people who drink or smoke. I tell them that they're my friends and that most of them have stopped but they never listen. What other reason do you think I'm on the forum all day?

If I get a 10 minute detention or something, they'll go crazy. I get banned from everything, it's pathetic really. I explain to them it's not my fault, but they're still so paranoid about things like that. Makes me so angry.
- Attitude
I always answer back and apparently it's "attitude" but it's just the way I say it. They tell me to go empty the dishwasher or something, and my step mum uses a mean tone so I say OK I'll do it in a minute in a calm voice then my dad comes in saying things like "why are you shouting at her? what's the point?"

I have to be in before dark, but as it's summer now, half past eight. I think it's pathetic. I admit, times are now weird with crime and stuff at night, but they don't have to go that extreme.

When I get grounded I get everything taken of me. I'm not even allowed a TV in my room, or watch TV downstairs. I can read a book, that's about it. But I don't collect books?

i'm hardly allowed out :l and they always lecture me about school and stuff -.-"

Im always aloud out and can come home like 2 am sometimes 3 am and they dont care
but there strict about school and drinking / smoking

yes my parents are very strict towards how i dress when im out, and to where i go.

it doesn't suck though, and i pity those that have no discipline.

Nah not really, if I say I'm going out I just say with my mates..

I'm one of those people who are lazy as ****, but I do well anyway and they pretty much know that. They don't exactly check up that I'm revising or anything because they presume I am anyway.

Nah, I usually get home pretty early and when I get home my mum normally says "How comes you're in?" and then says I can stay out till whenever as long as I'm with people and safe..

Never confiscated anything. Once I did piss my mum off when I got excluded and later that night I said I'm going out and she said "No you're not you're grounded" and I laughed and then so did she and I went out.. lol.

So yeah not strict at all, but I don't need to be punished anyway. I don't exactly take advantage of it, I hang around with people who aren't troublemakers, I revise alot, I don't act up in school or whatever so yeah :)

My mum always moans about who I hang around with because they're trying to drag down my grades but me being me I just ignore her, most of the time she's right :) She's not actually that strict about anything else, but I know parents that are :)

Okay here we go...

Behaviour - Their not bad... if I don't do anything wrong their nice.
Education - When I was prepping for my 11+ they were giving me hell but otherwise, they couldn't care less
Generally - They let my buy anything as long as it's not something rubbish and has a okay price
Who to hang about with - They don't care as long as their not hardcore emo/chav.
Attitude - They'll scream at my if I'm in a bad mood.

Not at all, never argued with them. They're encouraging but not strict, they buy me spirits lolol and they laughed when i broke my wrist

I was never forced to do anything. My mom was never on my case except she was a little ticked when I didn't go to school last year, but I'm going this year so it's all cool.

My Dad is stupidly strict. Up until about the age of 16, if I did anything he didn't agree with, I'd be orderd upstairs, be made to lay on my bed without a t-shirt on whilst he whipped me with his belt all over my back. So yeah, very strict :l

Nope my mum has never been strict. I started going out at like 12-13 and didnt come home till about 1-2 am. If i didnt wanna go school i didnt and if i got into trouble she was like ohwell you got urself into it you get urself out.

However my dad "tried" to be strict it failed miserably he started grounding me but i jumped out me bedroom window an buggered off for the night an wouldnt go bk till morning then he just gave up.

Both my parents know the people i used to hang around with and neither of them were happy about it i got in alot of trouble when i was a youngster an i dont rly regret it cos it made me who i am today an without being around them i would have been on the comp 24/7 doing jack all except playing rs an habbo and now i have the confidence to get out of anything and do anything i want to do.
