i've been seeing this guy for a few weeks now, and well... he's quite racist. he says he isn't and it's all light hearted and he's joking - but i seriously don't think he is.
and he's really ******* horrible to disabled people.
it's really put me off him, which writing it out sounds normal - but could you ever be with someone who was really racist/offensive?
To an extent yes.
at first i thought it was alright but... he takes things real far. i don't want to post examples because people will take offence.

um nope. i don't mind racist/sexist/cripple/religious jokes at all (infact i encourage them because i'm guilty of it myself) but when they have a genuine hatred for it then i'm definitely put off. kinda hard to differentiate between the two sometimes. anyway they'd need to get on with my friends and a few of my friends have a likening to black guys for some reason so it'd be a no....
exaaaactly. i don't mind racist jokes, to be honest i can't be a hypocrite because i find quite a lot of them hilarious. but joking is completely different, and there is a fine line - it took me a while to realise if he was joking or actually being serious.Quote:

but yeah someone whos actually racist i dont think they'd talk to me and i dont think id wanna talk to them. But then u dont get many racists round these parts

Oh, and it also depends WHY they're racist. If, for example, their family were killed in a terrorist attack, I could sympathise with them and I'd understand why they were prejudiced to a certain group, but if they had extreme views, such as wanting another Holocaust for immigrants or something ridiculous, then of course not.

Depends on how racist they are. If they made a joke like just a nickname every so often then I may be able to deal with it, however if someone was completely racist a lot of the time there would be no chance.
I don't think it would work, me being mixed race and all, but no, I wouldn't be able to tolerate it anyway.
Yeah, probably. As long as it's not Combo This is England level racism, otherwise I would have to start fearing for people's lives
Depends really, same applies to friends as well. If they occasionally expressed racist views but on the whole keep them to themselves I don't mind. But if they were continually making racist remarks or carried on about immigration, BNP etc then I'd tell them to shut up and argue with them. If they continued to carry on making racist marks I wouldn't hang around with them.
Definitely not, it would go against everything I believe about racism. I have white, black and asian family members, and I'm mixed-raced so it just wouldn't work.
The only way I could would be if they were like my friends mum, she's not outwardly racist as in making remarks and generally being mean, but she disapproves of mixed-raced people. She's still friendly to me but she's more against white people going out with black people or vice versa because they would have mixed-raced children who would be "confused". :/
If it makes you cringe now, Ben think what it will do as time goes on. I wouldn't want it and I can't see people changing.
I wouldn't be able to as I don't feel it is right for people to judge others on the colour of their skin/their ethnic background.
i think racist jokes can be very funny but these jokes aren't something i would love to listen to 24/7.
i can handle a few a day but if it's repeatadly it's to much to handle & it wayy to racist.
but yes, i find them funny sometimes. i mean, i make these jokes too sometimes, but i feel completely guilty after them because i know that they were born there color/religion, yanno.. you are who you are <3 don't take offence to any of this, guise (:

If they were full on properly racist then no way. I wouldn't even want to be friends with someone like that.

no. i would be lying if i said i didn't find a lot of racial jokes hilarious, but jokes about any race including my own. but if someone actually had racist views towards any race at all then it's just a massive no, i wouldn't associate myself with anyone like that.
and being horrible to disabled people is just a no. get rid of him now i say
Joking is fine, but if they said it to someone attempting to hurt them, I wouldn't be happy.
but any other ones, like joking about disabled people I wouldn't be able to be with them, having disabled people in my family it'd offend me.
