Anniversary VIP

I’m not sure what other members think, but would it be possible to then replace the Anniversay VIP bar when it’s run its course with something more permanent? The reward is great and is very much appreciated, however it is soon gone.

Five years is quite an achievement, particularly for those that have continually contributed, this includes staff too.

The wording on the bar, well let’s ask the members, but something along the lines of ‘Dedicated Member’ or at least something distinguished.

Thoughts for or against this?

Isn't that what Habbox God is basically for.

The join date and post count and rep power are signals of a 'dedicated member', I don't really think an added userbar is necessary.

That reminds me, never did get my Habbox Merit bar back after it was taken away with no explanation

would be nice to get more every year but i dont think another userbar is necessary

How about an option to have Gold Rep Power/Username upon reaching 5/6 or 7 year anniversary. Doesn't have to necessarily be gold, could be something else...
OR
You could get a little emblem next to your name which shows how long you've been a member for

gold rep power would be pro haha

Think the merit thing got tweaked by Oli, so he changed the criteria and removed it from quite a few people. That probably explains why.

Yeh that's correct, then he said you need to be manager 1 year instead of 6 months, not be fired etc.

It was if I can recall correctly because he wanted to make it more exclusive, so not too many people would have it.

Some time ago now we wiped the Habbox Merit group ready for some refurbishment and it is finally time for this to happen.

~ maintain appropriate behaviour around HabboxForum whilst a member of the group.

*Outstanding contributions are judged by General Management.

In terms of Anniversary VIP and stuff related to that if we have a number of options then I'm willing to put them into a poll and then go from there really.

Yeh it's all a bit fuzzy, like general management. Whether behave yourself means being allowed to be fired on a job after like he did with HxHD.

So a few ways to interpret things here. I know people who had slipped through the net. I know Matt recently amended someone's as well.

Well apparently the criteria are

All of these still stand in my case except for currently having an infraction (for saying that a moderator is not very good... fair obv), having originally been accepted for the "outstanding contribution" part rather than management for a year as I certainly was not :P not a huge deal just remembered it because I saw MissAlice has it and it was never adequately explained to me why contributions once believed to be more than enough were suddenly not up to standard

Back on topic of a possible anniversary userbar type thing, still feel it's unwarranted as longevity doesn't necessarily denote activity, and as MissAlice's own signature states - "Dignity does not consist in possessing honours, but in deserving them."

So it's OK to remove someone who was once in the Merit usergroup, an achievement, but it's not OK to remove graphics from the elites? This forum has really inconsistent moderation.

On the topic of the thread, I personally do not see a permanent reward for 5 years necessary.

I personally feel that adding/extending the userbar is pointless, it is something much better saved for say the ten year anniversary which is not far off any longer. Also some people already have two or even three user bars, if you start adding an anniversary one as well then things will get out of hand.

Retroactive removal is certainly not fair, particularly for something such as "outstanding contribution", that suddenly turns from recognition of all people who contribute into people who contribute and the current general manager likes.

I will admit I probably used the wrong word ‘Dedication’. If I have offended anyone it was not my intention. The purpose of this thread was to raise the very fact that once you’ve had your Anniversary VIP, nothing else follows.

If the majority are of the opinion a user bar isn’t needed, then so be it, but I do feel that once you’ve been given a reward of 3 months VIP for a 5th anniversary, then members are most likely to expect something additional later on. If the bar is a no go, then what?

Interesting that the only members posting in this thread have passed the 5 year mark or are close to it.

Yeah what did hoteluser do to it :'( but anyway imo I don't think it's really necessary to have anything else for members who've passed the five year mark. Sure it's a nice little achievement but I'm not sure if I see the purpose? People can easily tell how long you've been a member for from the little bit at the side and I'm sure we already have awards that users can request?

On the other hand, three months VIP runs out really fast and I do see what @MissAlice; is trying to say, five years of contributing to the forum and then getting only three months VIP. Maybe if enough users do want something different though then it should be looked into, I don't really see the harm.

Slightly contradicted myself in them two paragraphs but I'm neither for or against :)

Maybe you could just add a perk to those who have been there fore 6,7,8 years? Not sure what the perk could be but instead of VIP you could let them have an additional perk each year. Any ideas for what the perk could be are welcome!

I think it is a good idea and a bad idea. I could of registered in 2005 and posted like 10times then come back in 2012 and get rewarded for being dedicated even though i really wasn't. It's nice for those who are actually active though.

Yeh there needs to be an obvious criteria like 'X' amount of posts per year.

I'm sure there was a thread suggesting that you get a month's free anniversary VIP for each year milestone after the 3 months anniversary is finished. I wouldn't mind that idea, not sure why it didn't go ahead either cos I'm sure there was full support for it.

that was my thread!!! think it was forgotten about to be honest, but i do agree with the things in regards to activity. i have been pretty much active (if not constantly) every year i've been here but there are people who kinda posted 10 times back in 2006 and then rock back up and are like oh i can get vip?!?!?

i think the name should be "habbox babe"

Good idea tbh. Noone really pays that much attention to peoples join dates? A nice userbar to say this would be good.

2. A symbol/icon next to usernames
3. 7th Year = 1 month of the VIP etc - But only start giving it out to members who have posted recently or some sort of criteria?

Maybe 7 years = Gold rep bar?

Every year you should get extra things, but only if you post i guess other wise your pretty much useless to the community now. You may have contributed back then that has had an effect on the community and how Habbox runs but right now if you don't post in a year theres not much you've done to help Habbox so you shouldn't be rewarded for it

aw merge my accounts so i can get the 7 year thing, i've been such a dedicated member for like a third of my life!! :(

what about changing the colour of the rep bars whilst someone has the anniversary vip - so it's the same colour as the said individuals within the user group. or is that too cheesy?
