src is a html document which is your content.
Content html doc will be just <head><body>
    No layout needed

    To link to your iframe

    <a href="updates.htm" src="name of iframe here">Updates</a>

Now, if i got that right then i can do miracles,

frameborder="0" is also useful to get rid of the borders, but other wize thats right.

Im not sure what you mean with most of that, ifraim just shows another page inside one page, so the pages content would all be writen on the page ebing shown in the ifraim "/
    To link to your iframe

    <a href="updates.htm" src="name of iframe here">Updates</a>
This is where it all goes to pot, this is a link not a gframe so u cant include a resorce from another location. as u would be trying to do with the src="".

what you want ius the target="" attribute wich is what changes the page being shwon in the ifraim to change to anothr, so a more valid link would be

    <a href=" pages url " target="name of iframe here">Another page</a>
