    Okay well I have been thinking more. On the topic "Your mum dies".. In great britain if your mum dies some people go "My life isn't worth living" etc. Although of course emotional upset is there. If you look at your life, it IS worth living;
    You can get a career, make your mum proud
    Most liking your dad will be living considering the average age in great britain.
    You can talk too your friends go to a counsiller, go on the internet etc.

    In africa if your mum dies;
    You can't get a career, you'll have too work on the farm all your life non-stop too grow food too survive.
    Your mum won't get a decent burial that she deserves.
    Your dad could very possibly be dead considering the amount of men dieing from AIDs etc.
    If your dad is dead, there is no foster homes, no one wants you they can't afford to unless there family would die too due too lack of food.
    There is no one too talk too.. You are left alone

    Which life would you rather live?

    You use this as to say 'It's out fault, so shut up whining about your life when others suffer'.

    Well let me say, others will always suffer (Sad, but true). People can only accomodate what they have been through, I'm sure if say some person who says ' I have a bad life' means it in a way that her 'old' life has changed and it has caused her to be depressed/sad/upset with herself and her life.
    I agree. It isnt fair to make people feel guilty about what you cant control. If you come from a rich family, in no way should you feel guilty about having money when others dont.

    Anyone who says their life stinks says it for attention in my opinion. For a few reasons:

    1- As you said, most people have only seen their perspective, they dont know other ways of life, so you dont know what you have or what you are missing.

    2- People who know their lives really do stink, dont go around telling people. That wont make them friends, or make them happier.

    Hope that makes sense.

    I know what your getting at, but in England, your dad might still be dead, and someone might not want you. And not everyone in Africa is poor y'know.

    Im kinda against this thread because it just makes people feel guilty about coming from a good family and having a good life.

    However, I heard something the other day. George Bush promised that over the next 5 years, we will give 1.5 billion dollars to African poverty. Sound like a lot? Thats how much money we spend on the Iraq war in one day.
