why is this word filtered?

ok heroine has been unfiltered but the word without the e (in the drug form) is still filtered.

it was cos the word heroine contains the drug name, therefore it filters it unless you put the word you want filtering inside {these symbols} and it'll let words containing them be shown :p

Thats filtered because the name of the drug makes up the first 6 letters of hero'ine and the forum filters cant distinguish between a filtered word and one with an extra letter.

You wont even use that word anyway so quit complaining.

If it's anything like a lot of other message boards, then the moderators can alter it so that it doesn't filter words within words. But why does the original word need to be filtered at all? I know it's a drug, but you can need to use that word peferctlyreasonably, wheras I thought filters were only supposed to block words that were offensive or swearing?

how do you know i wont? in the music forum, a bit of people do... theres 3 songs i listen to that have the word "hero;ine" in them and i'd post them in the "what are you listening to" thread so yeah thats using them, and there's a discussion about from first to last and their new album is called her'oine so yeah thats another type of using that word.

Yeah but in VB you can wrap words around {}'s and only the actual word gets filtered,so if you had a filtered word it would only filter say Heróin and not Heróine.
