I'm going to say just three letters to prove you wrong. ICP.

What? You listen to The Rasmus and say that you listen to music for the lyrics? Rap lyrics are not crap at all, in some cases I'll admit they are, but I myself have written rap lyrics before which I think are pretty good, and some of the best lyricists are rappers or in the rap industry.

Please, for your own sake so you don't look like an idiot in future, don't talk. There is a big following of rap all over the world, it's the most successful genre (money-wise) in the world after pop, and even on the forum there are plenty of rap fans. Just because they don't all check the music forum every five minutes to make sure they don't miss out on news about some obscure emo band doesn't mean they don't like music.

Gun crime, sex and drugs aren't real issues? Open your eyes mate. They're the biggest issues about in the world today, most people can relate to at least one of those things.

Craig, marry me. Then give me your Misfits tickets.
Like I said above, I meant "I don't like rap in the first quote. And The Rasmus do have some good lyrics, sure, In The Shadows lyrics were, granted not good, but other song that haven't been relesed do.

Geez, rap blows badly. Public Enemy are though, infact quite a great Hip Hop/Rap band, which could even pass off as punk. On the other hand by the way, the only reason rap is doing so well is because of MTV and the mainstream, not because it's good. The media focus on spoon feeding people into rap and "gangsta" ****e. Remember kiddies, MTV ruined music.

Um.. no? It does well because people like it, it sounds good. Ok, they don't play the instruments. They still write the backing music themselves by computer, and just because it isn't as complex doesn't mean it's not as good. It's simple and it's catchy, that's why people like it.

I think it's hilarious how some people believe in all this "I hate the mainstream" stuff, and don't even realise that everything they preach is taught to them by other anti-mainstream idiots. Nowadays it's easier to find someone who says they don't like any mainstream stuff than it is to find people who do, so really the underground has because the mainstream by it's own hot air that it blows at people.

One day people will stop thinking that they're rebellious by quoting stuff about MTV.
