Not really, I see people with tons of words in their signatures which add's up to it. and theres only 10 posts per page.

Not everybody has 10 posts set as the amount of posts displayed per page.

Having images of 300 x 700 will be very anoying. People with lots of words in their signature are already anoying, I don't want long pictures.
I don't think there are many people, if any at all, who have so many words that it adds up to 700 pixels in height.

Awk well, I wouldn't say mine is that bad. I think the height could maybe be raised a wee bit, as generally people do tend to have more height in their images rather than width... but 300 x 700 is more than plenty!
