We are aware of some issues causing latency on a number of realms as well as causing issues with logging into the game, and have already taken steps to correct the problems seen in game.

To go into more detail it seems that earlier today backup routers were activated as a result of a failure within our ISP. While this process took place successfully and without player impact a subsequent failure of hardware resulted in poor realm performance and high latency, and slowness or failure to authenticate. We have been working with multiple vendors to repair and return service to normal as quickly as possible and so far have been able to return service to our primary routers which is helping the situation considerably.

We appreciate your patience while we looked into this matter, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Also blizz have been restarting quite a few realms i'm guessing in preperation for tbc as there will be ******** server lag if all doesn't goto plan
