Lol, nice editing there. Yeh they got fined heavily and for Trundle wearing that t-shirt. And if i want to be picky, it was the FLT (Football League Trophy) Final.
Johnstone's Paint, whatever they call it these days! And BBC edited the pic for me
On the subject of Swansea, I reckon they might have an outside chance in the play-offs this season. I was really surprised they lost to Barnsley at Cardiff last season.
Here he is in the infamous shirt which landed him the fine...

. And thank you BBC for the picture editing then lol. Yes it is now the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, but during last season LDV went bust so the competition lost sponsorship. This is why the Football League just kept the competition running as the Football League Trophy without sponsorship for the rest of the season.

Haha! So many sponsorship deals in football these days, it's unreal.Yes that's the t-shirt i was on about. And thank you BBC for the picture editing then lol. The list is endless...it goes without saying the Paint Trophy's the worst sounding of 'em all, though!
- Carling Cup
- e-on FA Cup
- Barclays Premiership
- Coca-Cola Football League
- Johnstone's Paint Trophy
- Nationwide Conference
Anyway, I've just seen that Carlisle are only 3 points from the play-offs! Outside chance, perhaps? It would be a rags to riches story with 3 successive promotions. No matter what, it's gonna be another very exciting season in that league and I'd say about 12 teams are capable of promotion. My tips are still Scunny, Oldham & Nottm Forest but with the way Bristol City and Yeovil are pushing for 2nd spot and the likes of Blackpool and Tranmere are pushing for the play-offs, it's a free-for-all!

God you're right about the sponsorship, these days they're only bothered about gaining money from the beautiful game. And yes, the Johnstones Paint Trophy is the longest and worstHaha! So many sponsorship deals in football these days, it's unreal.

And I didn't even know we were only 3 points behind so thats a big boost. Also, signing Paul Thirlwell at last will help and the return of Paul Murray from injury will hopefully push us on that little bit further
.
Finally, I would hardly ever say we were "rags" just "financially troubled from time to time". Well from time to time, I mean all of the late 90s/early 00s with Michael Knighton :@. He was only ever in it to try and make money, never for the benefit of the club the scheming *******. He even managed the team at one point AND apparently saw UFOs :eusa_wall. I suppose we should have seen it coming when he tried to buy Manchester United for £10 million.

10 Million! Is he having a laugh!? And the UFOs? You really should've seen it coming, the guy sounds like a nutter! Well at least you've seen the back of that moron now and you're on the up at last. Might need another few seasons in League One yet but can only wish you luck - hope to be playing your lot next season...in the Championship! :eusa_shifGod you're right about the sponsorship, these days they're only bothered about gaining money from the beautiful game. Well, with Knighton, everything seemed fine at the start. Yo-yoing between Division 2 and 3 for about 3/4 seasons. Selling our best player at the time (Paul Murray) to you and Matt Jansen left for an absolute pittence. Then, seeing the aliens :eusa_wall. It was all downhill after that, relegation battle after relegation battle. Waiting until the last kick of a game to stay in the Football League, you really don't want your club to be in that situation. After years of protest, the fans got him out and John Courtneay bought the club and was in charge for a couple of years until, now owner, Fred Story bought him out and has turned the club from in the red to in the black.

Great to hear the fans' revolt was successful, never should a moron like him be in charge of a football club. When we were in financial difficulties 6 years ago, there were clashes between the fans and the chairman (Chris Wright), who eventually, thankfully, stepped down. Anyway, Paul Murray is a legend in his own right, and I'd welcome him back to Loftus Road any time! I remember you being saved by a whisker, that legendary goalkeeper who scored on the last day of the season to keep you up...now that is a fairytale story!Yes, hopefully we will be, however long the odds may be.

There should be a statue of him erected somewhere in Cumbria!
