Ok your works finished, your pleased with it (well done) now all you need to do is that simple file > save as, woa a new screen pops up (getting a tad nervious) below are your options.
After you have figured out that you needed to save it as PNG or GIF you should then name your work then click save.Monochrome: This will change each pixel into eaither 100% black or 100% white totally demolishing your work.
16 colour: This will change each pixel into one of the 16 default colours that are typically at the bottom left of you MSPaint window.
256 colour: This will change the quality of your work alot, you can still tell what it used to be though it is pretty much rewined.
24 bit: Exellent for high detailed work although it doesn't do your storage space alot of good, I cannot remember what the number was but probabily something like 20million different colours/shades.
JPEG: no no no lately everyone is savng as JPEG? it's not good it bad very bad it will smudge your work, it should only really be used for photos.
GIF: This is easy to store although it doesn't have an amazing colour range it has about 300 but thats still enough, a good thing you get with GIFs is that you can make a colour transparent if you want to also you make made them animated.
TIFF: I didn't know this exist but now I do, anyway it just seems to be high quality and bad storage just like a Bitmap
PNG: perfect for saving pixel art, high quality images can be saved and they are still easy to store.
