whats the easiest way to check if it is a pirate version?
I ask this as two copies have been installed by customers on resellers account.

I honestly don't think there is a way.
I think if you have a licence you get access to members.vbulletin.com and you have a customer number and password.
Obviously you're not going to ask them for the login so.. I don't know how you can check but I do know that if you get caught with one that is not licensed, VB will be straight on the phone to their lawyers and you will get charged about £30,000+. That's why I don't have a non-licensed VB. I need to get a VB though, they're really good but if I do get one, it will definitely be licensed.

1.vb dont fine you, they simply tell you to remove it
2.the only way they find out is if some noob reports you, they dont have any installation trackers
