mario by far is not the same.. there's so many different types of mario games such as the racing ones, they're completely different to the origional ones.
even the origional ones have different levels + creatures + stuff.
however gta have ran out of idea's and now have to use the same levels/islands/places once again, mario doesn't do that.

so yer.

Your right although im not particuarly fond of the spin offs [bar mario kart]. But in every mario something new is added where as gtas are the same.
