    You can be 16 to run an online business I think..

    Anyway, the guy obviously knew if he turned down that offer, he would be getting a loads more hits which he is so now it's worth a load more.

    Think about it.. he's a clever guy.

    Legal age is 18, he is 17 and yes it does matter.

    how is he clever if he turned down THAT much money? The guy could be living a life of heaven but he stays in his bedroom looking at some website he made all night.

    CEO = Cheif Executive Officer

    A CEO of a company MUST be 18 years or older. You can start a little stupid hosting company from a reseller and think you're the top of the world, but it's not a full company. In order for the BBC to buy a website like that, the website would need to be fully copyrighted and registered. it's like buying drugs, they're illegal unless subscribed.

    Might be 12 in Canada, but it's completly different over here.

    Scott.

    In regard to your last post:

    You said they would need to be fully copyright and registered. My parents own two buisness' and I have a fair idea about this type of thing. I may be misinterpriting this but I believe you mean must be registered as a Limited Company. If so, you have to be making a certain amount of revenue per annum before you can apply to be a fully recognised limited company.

    He is getting a lot more hits now, therefore, it's worth a lot more money than they offered.

    Right, so getting about 50 more hits from people reading a story out of the recycling bin of the daily mail site will make you ALOT more money than £8.5 million? Nope. You cannot make more than £8.5 million through advertising, pal.

    Yep, my Dad owns a company. Didn't say they didn't have to have certain revenue percentages.

    Some people don't get business.

    They offered 8.5 BECAUSE they can make more.

    you really think the BBC are interested in making 0.02p a click from AdSense? No.

    Some of you people are ******s, it has to be said.

    The obvious reason for turning down the 8.5 million is because he KNOWS it can make more. Why else would the BBC want it?

    Also. You dont have to be 18 to own a LTD company. My brother is 17 and owns a legally registered LTD company.
