Whys everyone so suprised ICT teachers dont know how to code? there not supposed to ICT is the level of computing aimed to Secutarys and the like. it focus on idiot level how to use simple mainstream applications, word, excel, access etc?

You need to take somthing like computing / computer science if you actualy wanted to gain any real computer based knowlage... That or just learn yourself.

They should know the basis of some coding though.

Most ICT teachers teach into A-level and in A-level you have to learn some html and some js.

Not really, the closest it really gets is opening adobe dreamweaver drawing a square that makes dreamwaver generate a little html/js o.0

As the name suggests is a secutary type qualification, useless imo, because unless your stupid or have never owned a computer, you should be able to use word etc anyway.

I was "studying" the syllabus for AS2 ICT and it stated that they was to learn HTML & JS to create their own "effects" and implement them onto a web page.

This has to be thought by the teachers and therefore they should already know at least something about coding and what it is.

PHP is different as that's higher, specialised stuff.
