why did it take you so long to upload the backup? you said you were uploading it for about 2 hours, it should only have taken 10 mins ;S

When I was admin around 7 months ago the backups were about 800-900 mb. That was ages ago so I dread to think what the size is now...

Then it depends on the persons internet connection, if it is slowish at upload speeds then your going to have to wait a while for that size of file.

We had to wait for the hosting server tech to finish upgrading mysql and other changes to the server .

No matter how tight security is on the server, someone else can be hacked. Its quite hard to manage a big forum with a big team of people contributing on it and keep them all safe from hackers etc. The hacker needs to be lucky just once. We have to be lucky all the time .

But yes they did get hacked, I dont see how you can delete a database without typing in a comand or pressing delete and the comfirming

Yeah. It takes like 3-4 hours to download/upload it on a broadband connection.
