I have had the same feeling with every girlfriend I've had, no idea why though.
I speak to them all the time but just phoning them Lol.
I think one of the reasons I did this was because I do not like my parents being involved in my private life, sure they brought me up... Well one of them did but I like my private life to stay private.
This could be the same reason why your a little nervous about ringing your girlfriend, but just ring her otherwise she will think your going off her.
