Ok then, well we'll electiricute you, hang u by your feet, slit your main artery, scald u, pluck you, and then eat you, and then perhaps then you can tell us how you feel?
COS A SED SO RITE.
Yea, i have no idea how id feel... how would i feel if you killed me... humm i wonder... Dead?
Also im not entirely sure what importances most of that is, after somethings dead who give a **** what you do to it... and its dead by the end of the first step? Once im dead my bodys probably off to have whatever useful organs there are exstracted and the rest given to medical science, and if they dont want it, feed it to the dog for all i care.
Plus i hope you plan on eating me, or you just wasted a load of good organs and blood that could have saved alot of lives.
ps. How exactly do you plan on plucking me?

We are top of the food chain. End of. I dont agree with the way the chickens are treated, but we have to eat, and thats that. When you say "And then we'll eat you" makes it sound like you think eating the chicken is the bad thing. I thought this thread was about the way they were treated?
Sammeth.
I told myself not to get into this...
but OMNIVORE.. can mean, most of meat, a little of vegetables, or a little of meat and most vegetables, etc etc.
Some theorise that our teeth (which are pretty pathetic for ripping through raw meat) were designed as a survival mechanism for when vegetation was scarce: thus we ate other animals and coincidentally to most meat tasted nice and became a common delicacy. You're also going upon the theory that nature intends for things to happen.
Animals can theorise to some aspect too, where apes opening doors and using team work (note: theese weren't trained animals in the experiment) but they learnt to work as a team to open the door to get to the food: thus some theorising must have taken place to trigger the reaction to work as a team, this is all on a primal level though but to assume that only humans have a consciousness is arrogant to say the least.
Also in an earlier post you mentioned that animals have pain as a survival mechanism, yes that's true, but so do we and alas pain is pain, it hurts, a fish can feel more pain than a human because of the higher sensitive nerves.
You say humans have a higher understanding of pain but when it comes down to your life being threatened you revert to the same primal instinct to either fight or flee.
As the yanks say: my two cents :eusa_whis
my opinion on the matter, was on last post of a page so
Also, to the animal cruelty protestors on this thread, get your facts right first >_> Yes a lot of the stuff goes on like what you've posted, but it is a rare occasion a chicken survives if it's throat has been slit..
Also they cut the ends of the beaks off with a hot branding type of machine, it stops them pecking each other to death- alot more painfull than having the end of the beak cut off (yes I know the beak is very sensitive but think of 10 beaks slowing slashing you to death- would be alot of pain)
I don't agree with factory farming, and I agree that it's cruel, but please get your facts right before you start spouting off on a forum where dudes like entor will just rip you apart for your inconsistencies.
And how would you know, im sure youve been dead like 10 times already, obv ;lYea, i have no idea how id feel... how would i feel if you killed me... humm i wonder... Dead?

That one. Of course humans made up the theory, no-one else could.
And sorry dear but evolution doesn't happen because we're told to do stuff lol. That's like saying we should all be superb innate mathematicians because our ancestors were taught maths. Your arguments are all flawed.
Ezzie, sorry I didn't reply to yoursbut even if we weren't originally predators, I don't think there's much of an argument to say that we're not now. Also, I'm not entirely sure on this so do correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought that wisdom teeth (which we as a species are outgrowing now) were originally for tearing at raw meat - hence why they're now not something that everyone has, because we no longer eat raw meats. Similarly (although really.. conversely), it's been theorised that the appendix was used to help digest leaves and other vegetation, which seems to further your idea of our ancient ancestors eating mainly plants. So god knows where science and evolution were going with them.
