New Management Pls?
Personally if a help desk has a great reputation for giving advice it wouldn't matter if it had brown plasto furni IMHO. It is all to do with the quality and standard of service. I think maybe the desk should be advertised more.I guess that a lot of people that visit Help Desks want to visit those that look good aswell as having good staff. Quite frankly, the present room is quite boring and most would want to see lots of valued items inside. Even though you can't glorify rooms that are themed like the present one, it won't be attracting lots of people because of the standard of its design and detail and of course, value. The one that was used near christmas time or whenever was really quite popular and I believe that the standard was higher in detail and value. Like Eckuii aswell, he had a pretty glammed up Help Desk and it did bring in quite a few people that regularly visited. So judging on Bren's room (and I don't want to sound mean or anything like that), it isn't as glammed up as most users want Help Desks to be.
I agree. I feel that way also but I believe that that wouldn't be the view of most of the public and quite frankly, as quite a few have been slightly critical of HxHD, it doesn't have the X Factor for helping recently.
The quality of help at HxHD is appalling at the moment.
I've seen people wanting help being ignored, told "i dont know" and "use call for help dont ask me".
It's appalling and is clearly being sorted.
I do see Sam's point, a nice help desk is good, however Sam; I was the Manager at Christmas and I designed that Xmas Layout, however I do not think it was the layout that brought people to the desk, it was the fact that we had friendly and dedicated staff in the desk pretty much 24/7.

Okay. I think also that both are actually the important factors.
Yes of course the desk should look nice but I dont think it's a necessity.
You wouldn't think.. "hmm what help desk should i go to, oh Not HxHD it looks crap"
But you would think
"hm what help desk should I go to, oh not HxHD the service is appalling and everyone is AFK"

When I worked there people got good reports by attending even if they didn't really help anyone. Certain people even just walked in and sat straight on the dino and said BRB they then stayed there for most of the day and like I said before just left. I think staff shouldn't just be allowed to go sit afk for 2 hours and leave maybe a new system needs to be introduced?

I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.
the use of "tbh" in this thread is nauseating. if you're going to be honest, just do it LOL.
anyway: the help desk is only ever really full when there's been some drama. for example; over easter when hxf & hx were "hacked" the place was full. however, the week after the drama you'd go in there & it's empty. i remember back in the day (2004) when people would actually want to be part of that team to make a difference, now they want to be part of the team so they can be considered "cool" or to "get in" with the right people @ habbox. it's pathetic.
i think really, the only way to solve this sort of "bad patch" is to completely clear the whole team. and then get EVERY single member of the team to prove themselves worthy of working there. & even then you need check ups on the staff every week or so to make sure they're there. or a clocking in system or something.
