I have nothing against gays, but I don't understand the need to parade it really. I mean, do we see Straight Pride? Nope

And to the argument that gays get treated unfairly, around 20% of the worlds population are gay, that leaves the remaining 80%, when they see a gay couple kissing, many don't see it as the norm.

Anyway, well there is a need, As years ago gay people had to hide away, You were not allowed to be gay bascially. Now things have changed its a reason to celebrate. Also having been to gay pride, You find out alot of information which would help a gay person. So I think there is a need for it.

Others don't go around in parades, it seems like they want attention.

wow, you're so close minded. in alot of places homosexuals are looked down upon as being filth, scum and sickening. just like joe said above, they had to hide away and so forth, but now things are different. people may still look down on them but they still have their right to live their lives, how were they supposed to know they were going to be born the way they were? they weren't.

they can march and parade because they're happy with who they are, why should they lower their self-esteem just because some people detest their lifestyle? they shouldn't, they have just as much right to live as anybody else. homophobia is basically like racism, people say and mock like; "It was adam and eve, not adam and steve." but were either of adam or eve black? no, i didn't think so. (i'm not being racist, either.) but just think before you start ranting off about how you don't see how it's fit for them to have one occasion to express themselves in the way they feel they should

& dan, when women women being allowed to vote was announced, that was a big enough deal as it was and it got so much promotion.

It costs lots of money and wastes police time, it isn't even for a good reason, GAY PEOPLE ARE NOW ACCEPTED, it's like having protests about lets pull of of Iraq, so the government pull out of Iraq then still having protests about pulling out of Iraq when we have already done it.

Tax payers come first before people who already have all their rights.

Also did I say they can't express themselves?, I say let them by being gay, just like straight people express being straight by having sex with the opposite sex.

There just isn't a need for a pointless protest.

How can you expect acceptance from society when you're parading something you know they're uncomfortable with - all over the city?

It's a bad idea, through and through. Homosexuality's gained enough publicity over the years, now people should just live their lives as they always do. There's nothing to shout about anymore. It's just a different path of life.

I feel the Gay Pride march is not needed. Homosexuality is already becoming more and more accepted in life and is even getting more common.

I don't get how homosexuals claim to be 'just normal' yet can't be 'normal' and not bother with a gay pride march. It is drawing more attention to themselves and making them seem less normal. So it really does contradict itself.
