    & most internet users don't even know what javascript is..

    Also, bebo is kind of a web 2.0 version of myspace

    As said before, Invent and Dentafrice, are doing it for the expirience and skills. Making such a website could become useful if/when they apply for a web design job, especially is shown and mentioned in the CV. I wish them both the best of luck.

    Design wise its very web 1.0 but concept wise yes it is web 2.0

    Then something unique would be better, so you could add imaginative/creative to the CV.
