Everyone hating him for hating gay people.. is pretty much the same as him hating gay people. You're hating someone because of their opinions.

Everyone has their own opinion, you can try your hardest to convince someone that they are wrong, but it's not up to you to decide what they do or don't like. If he hates gay people, good for him. If you don't.. they hey, good for you.
