Realistically, the internet will head more into web-based applications. Perhaps in 20 years no files, folders or operating systems will be stored on our local machines, but instead be kept on data servers on the internet. Everything you would want to do would have to go through the internet (word processing, viewing your pictures etc.) and computers would be useless without it.

Larger companies will try to censor the internet and view a user's private files, thus creating a worldwide internet boycott.

I think the massive change has happned already within the past 20 years, I think in 2027 their wont be much diffrence im thinking every website will have flash banners and look more modern

i think you guys are kinda naive for saying not much more will happen :/ it's always going to be something you don't expect. 20 years is a long time, think of all that's happened in just the past 5 years.

20 Years ago, Computer's were not the main source of information, etc. So people obviously thought another appliance would become better in the future. But it obviously never because of the introduction of the Internet.

Atm the Internet seems like it will be popular forever, but who knows. In 20 years time a new type of communication might be created taking over the Internet and making it less powerful.
