Not to mention the member profiles are alot more advanced, you can rate a member, view their posts, topics and make comments on the members profile.
    Hey,

I would agree with GommeInc here, I much prefer IPB but I do love vB.

Its pointless purchasing a Leased/Owned license if you will only have a small community, It wont make the money back at all.

Indeed, vB is great, but an IPB has that professional and loose feels about it. I find vBs a bit strict when it comes to see how both are run and owned.

If you are looking for a paid forum solution then I would say IPB is your 'man'. It has alot of features and I find it generally easier to use, highly underated software I would say. I would only buy a payed forum if you are interested in making websites and will make more after this [It lasts for life remember].

alot of people Overrate vBulletin its not much than PHPbb except for the general acess and features whitch if you look hard enough and host the PHPbb yourself youll find you can do what vBulletin Does +More
Course im the kind of person who searches a day to find the cheap but better version when
    something new comes out

If your definetly starting with vB you should get the leased incase you dont wish to use it for over a year (incase unsuccessful etc) then after first year you could always buy the owned, Althought with owned you can sell if unsucessful.

I've never used IBP so i couldnt say its better than vB
