    Default PS2 Watch DVDS?

    First of all
Let me say, my PS2 is the original one (thick one) and the controller are the original one (the one with the wire, and the normal PS2 Controller)

My friends told me that if you put in a DVD in the PS2 cd slot thingy
and open your PS2 so that it has the green light right
Then, if you press play on your controller, it'll play the DVD
i have tried that and it doesn't work

Are they just telling lies? Coz both of them said they've watched DVDs on their PS2, and they sounded pretty confident =P
