The best shooter game I ever bought is my Battlefield Vietnam. Its an old game but is def worth buying it. Ive been playing it since its out.
Otherwise, CSS, Call of duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield series
If you need a free game.. Wolfenstein is the best one you can get.:8

Well it's not entirely based on shooting but it's good fun.
GTA: San Andreas, you can download a client to play online with it, RPG servers and free roam and stuff. It can be good fun, lol.
